what are your favorite recipes or cooking tips? ill start with a simple few, deep fry a pizza pop, use lemons to make steaks tender, steam ribs.
for a sandwich. pan fry some deli meat with balsamic vinegar, add fresh deli meat with the cooked meat, some butter on the bun, deli mustard, some good cheese, lettus , tomato, dill pickle, cucumbor , {all or any just to keep it moist } some italian salad dressing, salt n pepper, and some potatoe salad in middle of it all.
looks like another very boring day at work

When BBQing a steak, pour beer on it whenever you flip it. Tasty!
When boiling pasta, pour some oil into the water to prevent the pasta from sticking. I use olive oil.

Not a cooking tip, just a sandwich tip.
Tired of the same old sandwich in your lunch?
Take some ridged potato chips (I prefer President's Choice brand bbq) in a sandwich bag and put them on your sandwich just before you eat it.
The chips add an awesome texture to your sandwich and keep you from getting bored of "the same old sandwich."
I've been doing this for about a dozen years and find it can take your sandwich to another level.
If you want to try this you shouldn't put more than 10 chips on the sandwich as they break up and fall out all over the place.
My favourite combos are:
Smoked Turkey Breast and Barbeque Chips
Ham & Cheese with Sour Cream & Cheddar Chips
Hot Pepperoni & Cheese with Sour Cream & Onion Chips
Experiment. Enjoy. That is all.

Hmmm, I'm not good at cooking tips. I'm a big proponenet of the "Keep adding stuff till it tastes good" school of cooking.
Soup doesn't taste good?
What you got in the cupboard?
I got this.
Well throw it in, does it taste good?
Yup.
Voila.

Plain ripple chips is a sandwhich is great, good call guys.
Oil to cook pasta in? Ugh, no thanks. I use just water to boil my pasta in and it is never sticky. Once I am done cooking the noodles I throw it back in the pot and toss the sauce in after it, keep the heat on low and cook the sauce more with the noodles. Its great.

Geez, I guess people have a beef with oil in their pasta water. I'm only talking about adding a tablespoon or so. Not like a few cups.

Speaking of Grill cheese. I was watching Benny&Joon the other night, anyone else remember that movie? Johnny Depp's character makes them with a clothing iron, anyone else try that? Or ever want to try it?

I make them on a george foreman grill and they turn out pretty good just with little grill lines. So a clothing iron might be like a george foreman grill just with out the lines.
I wonder if it would be good.
On the other hand I saw at safeway Garlic and Chedder chips from Old dutch. Has anybody had them. Do they taste good?

Lightning fast grilled cheese:
throw 2 slices of bread in the toaster, when it pops toss on a processed cheese slice, microwave for 10-15 seconds and voila! Instant lunch!
I also like fries on a burger, or an egg. Sooooo tasty but a heart attack in a bun. Anginawhich anyone???

for an even better grilled cheese, heat the oven up to broil, get a cookie tray, set your bread on the tray, put some slices of cheddar (or Mozza, or marble) on and cook for 2 minutes (give or take a few seconds depending on the oven) and voila!

Sorry, but that's a toasted cheese sandwich. The key element in a grilled cheese is grilling the outside of the sandwich in butter or margarine.
(not trying to be a dick, I just think that by using the toaster to crisp the bread you end up with toast and not grilled bread)

Good point. I like to have a grill cheese by waking up at 4:00 in the morning and heading out to the woods with my axe. I then cut down the biggest tree available and log it back home. I chop it up and then get a fire going in the middle of my living room, I get a whole block of cheese and two loaf's of bread and put them together. I then hold the manWhich in the fire with my bare hands.
Like a man.
