Try going back to NHL 2000 (My last NHL PC game). It's awesome and a bit slow at the same time.

Haha ya I did that about a month back too. So much slower and chunkier. I think the worst part about '09, aside from all the "pick" and interference plays the computer would run(and never get called for), was how impossibly hard they made the goalies. Every game seemed like it was 1-0 or 2-1. If you got more than a couple goals a game(aside from an empty netter), you were doing really really well offensively. I like the dirty rebounds the goalies give out sometimes in '10.

Actually, I find the goalies are too perfect even in NHL10. The rebounds they give up get insane amount time in the air (They float for like 2-3 seconds and the AI gets so much time to interfere with your players). That brings up the fact that the computer STILL almost never gets called for Interference. Especially if you try a cross crease pass, where they'll level your player before you even complete the pass.

Oh ya for sure. I still scream all the time about how dirty the computer is and gets away with it. Its funny the amount of times my computer controlled guys will get penalties, yet their team never gets them. Makes sense. I think they've improved from '09, but they need to do a lot more work in this regard.

Obviously you can't do this against the computer because it'd be too easy, but when you're playing with the boyz I just keep the settings on Pro. It makes it a lot more interesting, the goalies pull Luongo Specials like every game, it ads another dimension to it I think.

Yeah the one aspect that really pisses me off is going into the slot, and just getting crosschecked and hammered to the ice and there's no call. Or better yet my line mate sends me a pass in the slot and I'm crushed way before the puck gets to me.

Yet I even sneeze at a guy and I get two.

Not to revive things.

I've dusted off my NHL 10 and decided to do a Be a Pro goalie.

My first few games I've been terrible.

Any tips to make me into a decent goaltender?

I generally stay in the blue and just focus on keeping square to the shot. It's also important to not over-commit to lateral passes, I find that's how I get beat most of the time.

So I just started playing online team games, and I have purchased some equipment in order to buy boosts...but is there a way to see how I can get some attribute increases for free? Such as achievements in games and that sort of thing? I don't really want to have to buy my way to a good player.

Each boost eqipment can be earned in game. If you look in the hockey shop menu, it specifices how to earn equipment and boost points. You'll have to accomplish these milestones in Be A GM, Be A Pro. Some can be unlocked if you play a ton of OTP games though by accomplishing milestones with your player.

Ah, yeah I noticed those, I was sort of hoping there was easier ways. Some of them are pretty ridiculous. So that's the only way some people have built their characters up to be good players?

Pretty much. It's done to heavily motivate people into buying the boost equipment. Pretty lame way I know.

Wow, I just played 2 guys (I was Penguins, he was Sharks), and after the first period the shots were 22-0 me, with a 1-0 score. First shot he takes in the 2nd goes in. Then Crosby took over and had 4G 3A, . 8-3 final (Crosby was on for every goal), shots were 49-10 me.

Felt good after I lost to the biggest d-bag the game previous 3-2. His name was wooohooo, haha.

I outshot someone 52-12 yesterday, and ended up winning 3-2 in a shootout!
