I think he’s just watching a youtube vid of Mario and holding a Wii controller, but I’m skeptical like that
Youtube comments claim
"To get started youll of course need a jailbroken iPad, and version 7.0 of snes4iphone. This app provides support for the Wiimote via BTStack. snes4iphone can be purchased for $5.99 via Cydia"
That make sense as Wiimote to computer via bluetooth has been done before.
It's the Rock SNES emulator. It includes it's own bluetooth software that is compatible with the Wii controller.
I jailbroke my iPhone last week with great reluctance. I'll need something a bit more than Super Mario World (or any other SNES game) for me to jailbreak the iPad.

Using a Wiimote and a stand for the ipad is a bit annoying though. Might be better for someone to create onscreen controls. Then again, my experience with trying to play Commodore 64 on the iphone were pretty debilitating because of how bad the small touchscreen was for mimicing a controller. I assume the ipad's larger screen space will allow greater precision though.
Anyone know how the pre-orders for the iPad will work tomorrow?
Can I pre-order one online or go down to Market Mall to pre-order one to pick up on May 28th? Or will the pre-orders be shipped to your house via Fedex?
I really would rather not have to deal with Fedex shipping another Apple product again.
The store. It's down. Preorders should be available any minute now. I'm pathetic enough that I'll wait the 9 minutes till midnight to see if it comes back up. Beyond that I'll go to bed.
Probably.
I'm hoping for an in store pickup too. I'm shooting a wedding the day after the launch and it would be nice to play with it that weekend.
Or... Add iPad to your existing Rogers data plan: $20
So, in other words, those of us with existing data plans can just add the iPad to that plan for only $20/month. For me, that means I get 6GB of data for both my iPhone and iPad for only $40/month combined.

That's not a bad deal. Its kind of what I was saying I think they should do earlier, to reward brand loyalty. There's no equivalent plan in the US, but on the plus side, the US $30 plan is unlimited instead of 5 gigs.
Just pre-ordered the 16GB / 3G, I just bought a new laptop so this will be mostly a 2nd computer (mine) to surf mostly at home. That way my wife can facebook to her hearts desire on the laptop. I think I'm gonna go with the 250MB at first to see how much I use it outside of the house.
I'm pretty damn pleased with the $20 month add on. Looks like I can get $15/month for 250mb or a share of 6 gigs for $5 more. I'm still curious to see how much data I use on it in a month.
Just ordered the 32 gig 3g with the case and the camera connection kit. Apparently the connection kit will be delivered "by June 7". God I hope they split up the order instead of waiting for all items to ship. I'm assuming they will ... is that crazy?
Saddened to see no "pick up preorder in store" option, but I guess Canada doesn't have too many stores compared to the states.
I’m fairly pleased with the Rogers pricing. I was disappointed Telus wasn’t listed as an option, but its month to month, so who knows, by the time the thing ships maybe I will be able to pick up a microsim from Telus instead. Seems like quite a coup that Rogers got to be the only carrier listed.

I'd love to know how this deal happened. There were rumors last week that AT&T bartered for iPhone exclusivity for another year in exchange for lower data rates on the iPad. Seeing as Rogers rates are so similar I wonder if there was any give or take there.
Well, now I'm glad I kept the 6 gig data plan for my iPhone. Rogers had been pestering me to change it for the last year and a half whenever I had to deal with them but I said no thanks.
So with this data I am able to just call Rogers add 30 bucks and get 6 gigs? Since my plan is only 500 mb if I use the 20 dollars sharing then I only get to access the 500 mb. If this is truley month to month and I can cancel and add it on as I please this will be great. I wonder if Rogers will have a cad/us plan for when people travel
Just called Apple because I pre-ordered the case and camera connection kit and wanted to make sure the fact that they ship later than the iPad itself it wouldn't hold up the whole order. Turns out the iPad and the Rogers SIM card ship from a different warehouse than the accessories.
Bad news (potentially) about the $20 to add iPad to your existing plan.

It’s great to see everyone so excited!
Many of you have asked about the shared data plan listed on the Apple website. This reference was an error and is being removed

That would be a VERY odd error for Apple to make. Something seems fishy. Pretty bad news if this turns out to be true.
edit: I kinda feel bad for Rogers. Instead of Apple making a mistake, this will totally look like Rogers offered this and then took it away. They are going to be crucified for this. That being said, this is why they should have announced their plans on Friday. There's a reason you don't let other companies do your media releases.

Assuming the above is incorrect, I think the $30/6 gig plan was only available for the first couple months of the iPhone 3G being available in Canada. Canadians freaked over the horrible data package and the 6 gig plan was Rogers appeasement. It was time sensitive though, so you may be SOL.
