My childhood hometown, Cranbrook BC: birthplace of Steve Yzerman, home of the Kootenay Ice.

What I now consider my hometown, North Vancouver: home of Grouse Mountain, hometown of Paul Kariya (and Todd Simpson).

Current city: hometown of Shawn Horcoff...

In the 70's, & 80's, On Halloween Night, Littering the main streets in town with burning Hay Bails.

IIRC, This was the cause of the gigantic fire that burned the Olds Arena to the ground.

I lived across the street from that pile of junk for a good 22 years of my life! (literally) That guy stores that s*** all over town now. He was my minor league hockey coach.

His son is a Rhodes Scholar and got himself a 4 year hockey scholarship to Princeton before that. Huh.....

Don't sell us short. The Hat is also known for it's gas! :P

[from Wikipedia]:
"Its major claim to fame is Rudyard Kipling's famous line "all hell for a basement"[4] referring to the vast reserves of natural gas beneath it. Because of the reserves, the city is known as The Gas City. It is Alberta's sixth largest city."

Also, for being dry, sunny and elderly-friendly.

[from Wikipedia]:
"Medicine Hat receives less precipitation annually than many other cities on the Canadian Prairies and plentiful sunshine (widely known as "The sunniest city in Canada")[8], making it a popular retirement city.

Plus, we've got a decent list of notable individuals:

And you can't forget the Medicine Hat Tigers, the primary Junior club of these current NHLers:
- Cam Barker
- Jay Bouwmeester
- Jason Chimera
- Derek Dorsett
- Vernon Fiddler
- Darren Helm
- Joffrey Lupul
- Clarke MacArthur
- Rob Niedermayer
- Chris Osgood
- Kris Russell

Deoxyribonucleic Acid, for example... sounds impressive, right? But have you ever seen what happens if you put something in acid? It dissolves! If we had all this acid in our cells, we'd all dissolve! So much for the Theory of Evolution, Check MATE!
