Well it appears that the charges aren't as serious as they potentially could have been based on the early reports. He's essentially been charged with statutory rape, so if they can prove that sex occurred he's guilty, there's no defense. The upside for Taylor is that there's no forcible rape charge, which would have been much more serious.
It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. The charges were brought swiftly, which typically indicates that the DA is pretty confident in its case. Without physical evidence they don't have much to go on, but it sounds like there is some (used condom) which could be tough to beat. He has pretty much the best lawyer he could possibly have, the guy was the DA in the county for a while, meaning he knows the judges and he knows the prosecutors he'll be facing inside and out. There's shadiness all over the place here, but proving the crime won't be as easy as showing that.
