I guess I should have said athletes not 'he'. But whatever it is clear you don't like the guy regardless and he can do nothing right.

Toronto fans are kidding themselves if they thought he was staying anyway.

Unlikely, if they showed any kind of improvement and had a solid playoffs I have no doubt he would have stayed. Instead, it was the same old Raptors and the lack of progression year after year has to be frustrating when you're the franchise.

Good god this guy is a loser. I hope Toronto let's him walk and saves the cap space for a real franchise player.
Whoever gives this guy the max is a moron. He can't even get his team into the playoffs in the butter-soft Eastern Conference. Instead of yapping on the computer all the time, maybe he should practice so he can actually make a shot when it matters.

So true. He's really holding back an otherwise above-average WNBA roster. We were much better running our post offense through Reggie Evans.

What a surprise.
And when he signs with someone else, he'll blame the Raptor fans for not begging him to stay.
The whole things about stroking his ego. Well he can go stroke elsewhere.

This is basketball we are talking about here, not hockey. A star player in basketball gfet you in to the playoffs regardless of the team around you (especially in the ridiculously bad Eastern Conference).
Chris Bosh is not a superstar, he's a good compliment player, but he's never going to carry a team. His stats are inflated due to the Raptors having absolutely no other threats. I can name 2 guys minmum from each draft since he's been in the league that I'd take in a heartbeat over Bosh. The guy doesn't care about winning, he's a friggen clown. He's more interested in putting out his next youtube video than becoming a better basketball player. Not a guy you give the max.
If Toronto had any veteran players that knew how to win, Chris Bosh would likely earn himself a smack in the face behind closed doors. Too bad Oakley wasn't still around.
Toronto needs to completely clean house. Get rid of every friggin one of these players that have been around long enough to become part of the culture of losing, and move away from europeans (not suited for the NBA, the NBA is all about power, Dunks, and travelling unlike FIBA).
They are never going to stop being a laughing stock when they keep bending over for the very players that keep that reputation going.

I had a long response typed out but I just deleted it by accident while looking up a quote. To summarize:
-we have no idea what happens behind closed doors, and Bosh openly called out his teammates this year so your Oakley comment doesn't pass the smell test.
Quote:
After Wednesday's game, Bosh shared his frustration in hushed tones, once again calling out his teammates for not playing hard.
"[The Jazz are] good, they're one of the best teams in the West," said Bosh. "But that's still no excuse. We didn't come to play.
"Yeah, they're good, but we have to [say], 'Who cares? We're still going to win this game.' And I don't think we have that fire right now."
Bosh said it wasn't his job to motivate his teammates.
"I can't instill it in guys," said Bosh. "You have to have it on your own. As much as I would like to do everything, I can't do everything. Personally, you have to bring something to the plate. Whatever gets guys going, we have to find it."

-what is the fascination with euros being soft. do other fanbases have this unfounded complex?
-the raps bent over for Vince by signing all his buddies like Alvin to bad contracts to keep him happy. And if you watched the difference between Vince and Bosh's effort for 82 games then you wouldn't compare the two
The rest of the stuff was about lousy roster composition and other stuff rehased from earlier in the thread.

Or he'll send some memorbilia to fans that pour their heart out to them and go back to having a sold-out stadium cheering his every shot for a decade - and this "ego stroking stunt" is actually him sharing his difficult career-defining decision as a 25 year old.
I'm not sure if you're a big Raps fan and just bracing for him leaving, or if you just like having the heaviest boots to kick a guy when everyone else is down on him.

I checked in to the even-keeled RaptorBlog and his recent post ( http://raptorblog.com/100503a.php) is just as derisive as some posters in this thread.
I don't get why every fan can wail and gnash their teeth at the uncertainty of his pending free-agency but if he does it he's a prima donna/whiner or, even more baffling, proof that he's not a franchise player.
I'm thinking of the next step in the charade too. If he re-signs in Toronto then he's content to cash cheques and never win. If he signs in New York he's an attention whore that doesn't care about winning, if he signs with Wade/LeBron then he was never an alpha dog and needs other players to carry him, and if says that he hasn't made up his mind then he's a prima donna?
This is why I don't follow a single celebrity or athlete on twitter. I worship sport and celebrate players, not the other way around.

I think the issue at hand here is Bosh is not going about this professional at all and playing around with the notion of not being in Toronto anymore and generating attention towards him. He's doing actions that are going to rile up people to give responses on Twitter and the media. A question like "should I stay or should I go" is going to get extremely predictable responses. And it's not like he's going to base his decision on fan response anyway. And then changing his location and the such just gives more attention.
It's quite clear he likes the spotlight. I don't mind that at all. But the way he's going about this is going to stir feathers with Rap fans.

Yes. He is attention whoring. There is a difference between garnering attention (due to his status), and trying to attention whore. It's the same as some hot chick saying "I'm ugly" and expecting others to tell her she's pretty.
I also agree with the sentiment that Bosh isn't good enough to build a franchise around. 20 and 10 guys are good, but there's a lot of them out there (Boozer, West, Randolph, Stoudamire, Noah etc.) and all of them have a superstar point guard to bring out the best of their abilities. It seems like most teams either have a superstar winger (Kobe, Durant, Lebron) or a superstar center (Yao, Howard) to build around, but for PF's, you need a good point guard as well to bring out the best.
Thus, a guy like Bosh isn't worth the max, but someone will clearly pay it.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Bosh take 5 some million less then the max to go to a winning team. I don't like what he has done with this twitter stuff but I don't follow twitter really so I don't care much about it.
I admire the years he gave Toronto, giving 100% effort every game (something Vince didn't do) and trying to win. After all those years the fact that he wants to go somewhere else is fine by me. I like how much he wants to win and personally I hope he goes to a contender for less then a max contract and wins a Championship.
As for Toronto, it is time to clean house. Hedo and his retirement-esque attitude isn't helping at all. They need to build through the draft but this time around not pick all the busts and instead make some decent picks (they passed on Iguodala and Granger). I'd say within 2 seasons the Raptors could have a very strong lineup. I would hope they rebuild entirely rather then try to make it through a season without bosh and finish with the 7th-10th overall pick.

I think he will take less. Isn't his agent the same as LeBron and Wade?
If he is smart he takes the cut and tried to play with one of those guys to win championships.

This just stinks of continued mismanagement by the Raptors. I know they were in a playoff run, but they had to know with the roster they had, there was a minimalistic chance at a deep run. If Bosh wasn't commiting to signing with the team, trade him for younger pieces/draft picks.
I don't know the nature of the game, and the limits to trading, but I can't believe they're going to let another player go without getting fair return for them. How long before Andrea or deRozen are on the same path.
How Toronto teams are allowed to be so crappy for so long is beyond me.

NBA's cap isn't like the NHL's. Bosh can actually get a higer salary with the Raptors than with any other team. Therefore, the most likely scenario if Bosh decides not to stay with the Raps is a sign-and-trade, and both Colangelo and Bosh seem to be willing to do it if Bosh wants to leave.

I don't follow the NBA contract wise do players ever sign 1 year deals, Hossa style, in the NBA? So could a guy like Wade or Bosh wait to see where Lebron signs, sign a cheaper deal with that team, then become UFA the next summer?
