Well that Police officer will be losing his job and hopefully see some criminal penalties of his own.
He absolutely will not be. Police Chief has already said that at his first glance that the use of force was appropriate giving the guy was fleeing from arrest,a nd the officer did exactly what he was tought to do.

The department is doing an investigation into the matter (does not really include the chief).
He might not lose his job, but something will definitely come out of this.
Sorry, but in my books having full permission to straight up tackle a drunk idiot is a hell of a lot more fun than shooting a dinky piece of plastic at him. Fail for the cop.

Let's see....could of tried to attack players/coaches/umps etc., had already broken the law by jumping on the field AND was resisting arrest by running away from police...yeah Im OK with bringing the dufus down with a little electrical charge.

Nothing will. Sure they may say they are looking into it, to shut up a few bleeding hearts, but they have no grounds to do anything to the officer (he did his job to the tee as to how he was trained according to the police chief). IF they were to do anything, they'd have to admit they are not training officers properly and with the proper techniques. That would mean thousands of law suits in the city of Philadelphia alone.
Not going to happen. Act like an ass, pay the price. There's precious few bleeding heart liberals in the US. One of their traits I admire.

Yea but much harder, especially if you're out of shape, easier to just taser.

Except tasers have been known to cause death. Not that I endorse a moron like that, you run on the field I think you should be fair game to be tackled and beaten.
Definitely deserved being tasered. If you are going to act like a complete moron and run onto the field which is illegal and can land jail time, it is your own damn fault. He clearly knew he was doing something wrong and chose to be an idiot anyways. He wasn't following orders and got tased for it. Good riddance.

By running on a field? He's gonna receive criminal charges, isn't that enough?
I dunno. If I was that cop, and buddy there made my fat ass run after him, likely after a few brewskis and at least one Philly Cheesesteak, my mood would likely be described as dour at best.
The problem with guys running on playing fields is that they're unpredictable. Sure, he might just go for a jaunt and then casually leave under arrest. Or, he might dropkick Philadelphia's 800 Year Old manager right in the brain killing him instantly. Tough to tell.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
Not to mention idiots like this guy are half the reason our tickets to a sporting event are as expensive as they are. The amount of security needed at events these days is ridiculous. Someone has to pick up the cost, and it most certainly won't be the promoter/sports team. He deserves to be tazed on priciple alone.

Or stab someone like what happened with Monica Seles. There is no room for error. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Kinda ridiculous how they cheer the guy on while he's running, boo the security guards when they handcuff him, then cheer when the guy get's on his feet. Shouldn't it be the exact opposite?
