Default 2010 CFL Draft Thread

Toronto has traded #1st and 8th overall pick to Saskatchewan for 2nd and 4th pick with a veteran Canadian player going to Toronto later. With the first pick Saskatchewan is taking Shomari Williams on Sunday afternoon and have apparently already agreed to a 3 year deal + plus an option but his agent has denied this.
http://www.sportsnet.ca/football/cfl...t_argos_trade/

1. SSK - Shomari Williams LB Queens
2. TOR - Joe Eppele OT Washington St.

3. TOR- Corey Greenwood LB Concordia
4. BC- Danny Watkins OT Baylor

5. CGY- Rob Maver K Guelph
6. EDM- Brian Bulcke DE Stanford
7. MTL- Kristian Matte OG Concordia

I bet Calgary goes with K/P Rob Maver, the clutch kicker from Guelph.

The veteran Canadian player in the Riders deal is rumoured to be P/K Jamie Boreham.
And with Louie Sakoda and how he did last year, it makes sense.

Then the Argos did another trade with the Lions, the Argos get No. 3, No. 18, No. 26, and No. 30 picks, and the Lions get No. 4, No. 20, No. 24, and No. 25 selections. It deal also stipulates that the Argos cannot take receiver Shawn Gore (Bishop's Gaiters), who the Lions want. So the Argos will probably still take Cory Greenwood at the #3 spot

It's all on TSN

Not shocked at Boreham is going the other he was most likely going to be outright released in Camp.

wow, riders musta really wanted williams, i know boreham isn't a big loss, but giving the 2nd and 4th for 1st and 8th. I wouldn't be surprised if the Stamps picked Maver, but at the same time they could try and get an american kicker and draft a Canadian at another position. any idea who else they would be interested in if they don't go for Maver (who IMO is a good selection)

I wouldn't be one bit surprised if Calgary drafted John Bender. I would say it is 60-40 between Maver and Bender on who Calgary is taking Sunday afternoon.

anyone see the picture of the first pick in a SK jersey on cfl.ca? Did SK move to a 2 tone green jersey? Or just the sheen on the flash?

As expected Toronto takes Corey Greenwood third overall even though he was going fourth overall until the trade last night.

BC gets their kid in the second round anyway in Shawn Gore. I gotta believe the GB factor played into this.

Farhn is on something today. Sanchez is not the only Canadian CB in the CFL right now. You bloody idiot.

CFL.CA or TSN.CA. But CFLDaily on Twitter is crapping out the picks like there is no tomorrow so no pointing in watching a stream they are like 5 picks ahead of TSN.

A real good draft for the Stamps. Now if only Bender doesn't get picked by an NFL team next year.
