Sounds like Given is out for the rest of the season now - and they can't recall Hart from Birmingham.

ya they bring it out all the time, and Given looked to be in serious pain
big loss for City, Given is 1 of the 3 or 4 best keepers in the world I think.

Gonna be an interesting last few weeks in the league
the title is still up for grabs
last CL place is still up for grabs
And the last Europa league place as well
5-7 get Europa next season, its usually only 5-6, but with Pompey not allowed to play in Europe next year it opened up. Would need Everton to win both and Liverpool to win both.
Villa winning today helps Spurs as well in the fight for 4th, Villa are still very much in the race for 4th (although both spurs and city have a game in hand) and their game against Man City next weekend is huge for all 3. Both teams will feel they need a win though. A Villa win means Spurs would only need to beat Bolton and Burnley to secure 4th (barring Villa making up the 10 goals spurs are ahead of them in GD)

Looks like City are trying to get Marton Fulop on loan from us for the rest of the season:
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,195...118446,00.html
I don't know why they don't just give Nielsen a chance, as playing for the Faroes at various levels he's definitely faced enough shots from quality opposition. Fulop's an alright keeper but not sure it would be that much of an upgrade.

I think they're worried that they won't have another keeper if Nielsen gets injured during a game.

that is setting a seriously dangerous precedent if they allow city to get another keeper on loan
Look at Chelsea earlier this year, Cech and Hilario got injured. They had to go to their 3rd keeper (I think Turnbull) and the backup for that game was a youth squad member
these rules have been put in place for a reason that don't allow transfers/loans outside the window. Man City are not portsmouth, they could have easily had another keeper or two

some people just don't know when to not say anything, or maybe he just wants to force a transfer
"The Club I most want to play for is..."
He also says his head coach wouldn't be a good coach for his national team

If you ever read his personal website as well, http://www.arshavin.eu/en/
the questions he answers and his responses are hilarious
some of my favorites
“If I had it in my power to introduce a ban on women driving cars and to withdraw all their licences, I would do it without thinking twice. In my opinion a woman and a man are two absolutely different creatures.”
“I do not like to exchange shirts after the games with opponent teams’ players. I only attempted to do it once because my wife asked me to. She wanted me to exchange with Ronaldo, who she likes as a player. But my attempt failed.”
“Russia can be a very chauvinistic society, There is a saying: “A chicken is not a bird, and a woman is not a person”
“I think the quality of life, especially for people with money, is better in Russia than here [in England]. Here there are lots of rules and laws. In Russia, if you have money, you can break the law.”
“Fulham was a hard match for me. Even before the end of the first half I felt as if I had spat my lungs out. In the second half my legs simply refused to serve me.”

They always knew he wanted to play for Barca, but he demanded too much money.

Terrific goal and a great win today. Gomes' injury has all the signs of being a heartbreaker.

It's going to hurt if we lose on Wednesday knowing we'd have 4th locked up if we had been able to beat Wolves this year.

or Stoke at home... or Everton away after coughing up a two goal lead.. goes on and on. haha - I guess that's why they play the games and we support Tottenham - suckers for punishment.

St Totteringham's Day got pushed back today with Blackburn beating Arsenal, and to celebrate, some more wisdom from the mind of Andrey Arshavin
Dear Andrey, I have an unusual question for you. I want to marry a football player in the future (they have great legs), I am a boxer. Do you think we’ll manage to find common language?
Arshavin: This will be a dangerous mix. I think that your son will become be a kickboxer.
Hi, Andrey I’m at work right now and I’ve just read the answers to my questions. I can’t even believe that it’s you who answered them! I have tears in my eyes, I’m so attracted to you I can’t help it as if I’m pulled close to you! Thank you very much!
Arshavin: Take out your handkerchief, and I’ll take out the magnet that pulls you )))
Hello, Andrey! I am 12 years old. I'm your fan and I wear a jersey with your name on it. Please tell me how to learn to play football, without straining myself. I do not like physical exertion.
Arshavin: It’ll be difficult for you.
Do you feel sometimes like you want to be inconspicuous, or do you like your popularity?
Arshavin: Yes, I would like to become an owner of a magic hat that makes you invisible.

Surprise, surprise; Wegner is whining again. Apparently the game was unfair because the Blackburn players were trying to screen his keeper. Sorry we all can't play the nancy-ball like you do, Arsene. The refs are also to blame.

Buffon Open To Premier League Switch
May 4, 2010
Soccernet.com
Soccernet Staff
Gianluigi Buffon has revealed he would be open to a move to the Premier League as he admits there is a possibility he could leave Juventus this summer.
Buffon, 32, opted to stay with Juve following their relegation to Serie B in 2006 but, with Juve now out of the race for Champions League qualification, there has been heightened speculation that he could move on.
The Italy goalkeeper recently dismissed talk he could join Manchester City, saying there was "no way" he would consider a move to the club as they are not among the European elite, but Manchester United are also believed to be interested.
"If I had to leave, I think England would be my destination," Buffon told Sky Sport 24. "My desire to leave Juve is equal to that of Juve's will to have me leave.
"At this time there is nothing [to discuss] but there are two weeks to go [before the end of the season] and anything can happen. Juve always has the priority and we will see if we will decide for our paths to continue together."
