Had a change of heart and signed with Dallas. I see the idea that teams may be in love with their own draft picks and favor them over a college free agent. But as a college free agent you also get a bit of a choice as to where you go whereas if you're a 7th round pick you don't. If he was willing to try a NFL career as a 7th round pick though, I do think he should give it a shot as a college free agent.

I agree. If multiple teams are after him than at least go to a camp. If you don't then I would think I would always wonder what it was like.
I can understand not wanting to be a player going from practice roster to practice roster, but at least find out if that would be the case.

Shoot, 30 more pounds and he could slide right in at LT.

Wow. The Dolphins sure have a classy GM in Jeff Ireland. At least he apologized.

DAVIE, Fla. (AP)—Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland has apologized to former Oklahoma State receiver Dez Bryant(notes) for asking whether his mother was ever a prostitute.
The apology Wednesday came after Yahoo! Sports reported that Ireland posed the question during a pre-draft interview with Bryant.
"My job is to find out as much information as possible about a player that I’m considering drafting,” Ireland said in a statement. “Sometimes that leads to asking in-depth questions. Having said that, I talked to Dez Bryant and told him I used poor judgment in one of the questions I asked him. I certainly meant no disrespect and apologized to him.

Not that I agree with him asking that particular question, but when the players are being coached to give interview answers I do think NFL GM's likley have to shock this guys a bit to find out what they're really like. A question like that certainly would meet the shock factor.
I know if I was being asked that question in my job interview for a potential multil-million dollar job, the guy asking the question would get a pretty good read on my real personality.

It must be interesting interviewing some of these players who come from the ghettos in the inner city. I can see a team wanting to know what a prospective draft picks upbringing was like because it can have an influence on their character later in life. To ask flat out if a players mother was a prostitute could be a little to forward. Don't teams hire guys to inquire about potential draft picks back grounds?

Uh-oh, Broncos fans are going to be pissed.

As Mike Klis of the Denver Post reported earlier today, tackle Ryan Clady suffered a potentially serious knee injury while doing something unrelated to football. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the injury is believed to be a torn patellar tendon. The source says the injury occurred while Clady was playing basketball.
If that's the case, Clady likely will miss all of the 2010 season.

Big Walt is retiring tomorrow(reportedly, he also said something similar on his twitter), makes me sad. I really hope he raises the 12th man flag for the home opener, the place will go absolutely nuts.

That's really too bad. He was at one time arguably the most dominant LT in the game. He made Shaun Alexander a millionaire.
EDIT: Hasselbeck too.

Yeah. I really hope Okung doesn't get blasted by the Seahawks fans, he's going to make rookie mistakes and he has very large shoes to fill.

If the Raiders cut JaMarcus Russel by 9:00 AM Pacific time on Monday....I pledge to change my avatar to Al Davis and keep it for one calender year.

Well, Jones wasn't at all effective the past year and a half, and I don't think an OL just by design is going to get singled out and blasted.
Plus, there's a much higher chance that there will be a bigger issue (say, QB) that SEA fans will be more concerned about, amongst all the changes.
Probably HoF career, and yeah, Alexander, and Hasslebeck have him to thanks to getting them as far as he did.

That would put him back in time for the regular season.
May not be in the best shape obviously, but not that big of a deal. More importantly is how his tendon heals. Any problems there and things start to get real questionable short and long term.

Fixed. If he doesn't get in first ballot I will be shocked.

So I guess we can expect Ryan Harris to be out next season again? Looks like we might alternate.

The kid is a freak of nature. Hopefully that plays into things in a positive way.

Well, 3-4 months is best case scenario. Then take into account the time to get back into game shape and how it may affect his game overall. Just a terrible freaking injury. And apparently Harris' toe still isn't 100%. Argh.
