Lakers in 6 - Shaping up pretty good, OKC has won 1. Have one more in them I think.
Nuggets in 7 - Close series all the way, so far so good.
Suns in 5 - No Brandon Roy means this series is one sided. Looks like it'll end in 5.
Spurs in 7 - Tied up at one right now, could be headed for 7.
Cavaliers in 5 - Bulls won their game, now the Cavs can put them away.
Celtics in 6 - The way Miami is playing it might not even get that far. They have to win the next one.
Hawks in 4 - So far so good.
Magic in 5 - Larry Brown might have one win in him but his Bobcats are completely overmatched.
Those were my predictions before the playoffs started. All possibilities are still in play!

Well those were some exciting games.
Orlando in a close game vs the bobcats. Bucks blowing out Atlanta.
Brandon Roy coming back and Portland taking another against the Suns. I don't know what is with the Suns. They always seem to be much better in the regular season than the playoffs. Maybe their team just isn't built for it.
And of course, LAL-OKC. That arena was absolutely electric, you can feel it through the TV. What a blowout and domination from start to finish. Kobe is pretty hurt, and the Lakers don't know how to do anything without him. I called an upset here and hopefully I am right!

I love Steve Nash (he's my favorite player in the league).. but he got exposed last night. Miller did it in Game 1. Gentry managed to hide him in games 2-3... but he got beaten again last night. I still think the Suns take the series but I don't like their chances come round 2. Brandon Roy is a warrior.
Go Thunder. That's all I'll say. Kind of reminds me of Golden State -Dallas a couple years ago... only that I like OKC's future a lot more.

The West is a complete gongshow right now. The # 5 (Utah) and #7 (Dallas) seeds are up 3-1 in their respective series'. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I do think that Portland has a legit shot at taking out the Suns. Meanwhile, I still think that LAL gets by Oklahoma... but they've shown that the Lakers can be beaten.
The East is going as planned for the most part. The only series that has a little bit of doubt is that Hawks-Bucks series... but I'd be shocked if ATL managed to blow that. ATL-ORL is going to be the series to watch next round.

YEAH GO THUNDER!!!!!! However I hope that bc the basketball team is doing well that it doesnt cause less interest for the AHL team we have coming for next season.
It is pretty remarkable the turnaround the thunder have made from last year to this year!

It's hard to compare an NBA team to an NHL team for obvious reasons... but the Thunder do remind me a lot of the Blackhawks in a lot of ways. Just a stockpile of young talent that is growing together.
The scary thing about this core is how they are all young and all massively talented:
Durant: #2 overall in 2007
Green: #5 overall in 2007
Westbrook: #4 overall in 2008
Harden: #3 overall in 2009.
That's a lot of young highend talent that only has the potential to grow. You guys in Oklahoma City have a lot to look forward to down the line.

LeBron was a one man wrecking crew, averaging 31.8 pts, 9.2 reb, 8.2 ast on .567 FG% and .542 3PT%. Throw in 2.4 blocks and 1.2 steals a game and Chicago had no chance in that series.
Wade was by far the best player in the Boston-Miami series, averaging 33.2 pts, 5.6 reb, 6.8 ast. But Garnett and Allen had big series', and none of Miami's other players were very good at all.
Orlando swept through their series, leaving only Milwaukee and Atlanta. Atlanta should win, but who knows after the last two games.
In the West, Nowitzki has been fantastic, but the Spurs are still up 3-2 because of Ginobili's heroics.
Lakers, Suns, and Jazz are all one win away from advancing as well.

So the Suns would play the Spurs if both teams win against Dal/Portland? I know the NBA second round is seeded much different then hockeys.

Yeah, it's a set bracket. So the winner of 1/8 plays the winner of 4/5 no matter what.
If the Suns and Spurs both advance, they'll play each other regardless of what happens in the other two series'.

Thanks Malcom. Hopefully the Spurs can put the Mavs away in game 6, give the Suns home court in round 2 and they can finally put there past demons to rest.

This brings back a lot of memories..Suns Vs Spurs series starts Monday in Phoenix. For someone who bashes the NBA a lot on the excitement level from some of these games, Celtics/Cavs and Suns/Spurs will both have me watching.

Suns/Spurs. The matchup I was most and least looking forward to, both at the same time.

Incidentally... does Dirk go to Phx in the offseason? I imagine him and Nash have talked about it already. Would they be able to trade Stoudemire for a shooter or do they keep both and convert one to a center?

Wow, OKC's execution failed horribly at the very end of this game.

K, I don't watch basketball too much, this is my first and last post in this thread, but wow holy choke job Denver. Way to go. Really.
Without Karl they were totally hosed. JR Smith and Nene need to go in the offseason.
