Oh for sure, I used to develop multiplayer location based games for handsets as well and battery was always the killer.

Nice. Do you hash or encrypt the data from the handset? The games I did we didn't have to worry about that much since most handsets didn't have wifi, but now it's much more prevalent. When I got your game and started playing with it a bit I thought if the data stream is unencrypted it might be easy to figure out the protocol and write something to send messages to your server moving my location around from home

Well, I left downtown Calgary a nuclear waste land. Didn't hold the territories for long but I sure used up a lot of gold droping nukes all over the place.

So I am running the new OS4 beta, and there are some problems with the map. Gestures don't work at all. We can't zoom in or out on the map, or move the map around. All we can see is what is on the screen at any given time. When you do touch the screen, it (on a single click), opens the territory properties.
Also, it seems that there are connection problems with the db with the new OS as well. Getting territory information, or trying to launch an attack takes way longer.
As an aside, have you guys thought about offering the ability to flip the screen to landscape. The current orientation works great when you are travelling north to south, but if you are travelling east to west, it seems landscape might be preferable.

Yeah, one of our group downloaded it and found the gestures stopped working. We will have it working before the public release, but we will wait until they work out some of their beta bugs first.
Landscape mode. Will add to the list.

Likely not your fault.. at least the app launches! I can't get several apps to even start up, and when they do, they don't look right.

Yes, he seemed to have taken over a territory from me in Beaumont and then 3 mins later downtown Edmonton. Something doesn't add up.

Seems pretty easy. I suggested that friends could share 1 account across multiple iPhones to collect areas in two different parts of the world at the same time.
In any case, someone was really sneaky here in Ottawa. I came back from vacation and checked the map and was relieved to see that none of my territories were taken. Until I noticed that my attacker was using the same colour as I was, so I just THOUGHT nobody attacked me. The jolinar is a sneaky SOB.

Who is this guy with some 4000 territories? Where is he accumulating those?

You can do a user name search to see where their territories are. Click the map button in the middle of the conquest screen.

Did you leave me any territories in Ottawa or are they all gone?
Ottawa is also nice this time of year, not to mention I got to meet David Jacobson (US Ambassador to Canada) and the Chief of Defence Walter Natyncyk.
