The tram/train type thing they have is relatively quick. Just to be safe though, try to get a seat close to the plain and pray for no delays.

20 minutes ... wow. In any airport I'd say you might be in tough but if I remember right, Denver is just one terminal (at least for "domestic" flights - I've never changed terminals) and it does have those smooth moving walkways all over the place. I think if you tell them that you have such a short connection they'll try to help you out. 20 minutes does not leave a lot of room for error though.

Try this. Put in your Calgary (?) to Denver flight than your Denver flight to las vegas and see if they're different lettered gates. If they are, you will have to change terminals.

If you're on United operated and United operated, you'll have no trouble as long as:
1) You have no checked baggage
2) Your plane arrives on time

Wow, 20 minutes is really really pushing it.
Is the second flight also with United Express?

All United flights are out of the same terminal so that won't be an issue. If your flight is late taking off I'd worry a little though. I missed a connection to Oklahoma City earlier this year in Denver. My connecting flight was only one gate over, too.

Both say Air Canada, but in brackets say United Express.

Should be good to go then. Other flight will probably have started boarding already though when you get there.

What would checked baggage matter? Don't they move it to the other plane for you.

They'll be run by United Express (which is a smallish plane by the way). I don't think Air Canada operates any flights from Calgary to Denver.

Checked baggage might actually be an advantage. Then you just have to beat your baggage to the gate (and the plane wouldn't take off anyway with your baggage on it if you weren't there).
It's only an issue if your second flight is on a different airline (then you'd have to go to the carousel and re-check-in.

Less room, or just less people? I'm hoping the seats aren't any smaller than Westjet

Less room. Make sure you have a small carry-on and the seats are smaller than WestJet. Depending what flight you get on they could be considerably smaller.

Indeed, checked baggage with less than a 30 minute (probably less than 20) turnaround gives a much larger chance the luggage will not be there at the other end in Vegas.

Thanks for the help guys. I just looked up the flights on seat guru, and the plan seat width is the same as on Westjet so i'm happy.

When I came to Calgary in '99(?) I had 54 minutes between flights and barely made my connection to Calgary.
DIA is unbelievably huge. Good luck!
