According to ESPN,
Kiper has the Packers picking up Cody. Like Seifert comments, this is an odd pick considering the long term deal for Pickett and Raji drafted last year at 9th overall and not really having a full season yet.

Wow - Jake Locker drawing comparisons to a bigger/right handed Steve Young - that's a pretty bold statement. Although Young was my idol as far as Football players go during his peak years.

Looks like he is done as a Raider.

Jerry McDonald of the Oakland Tribune says Kirk Morrison will be cut or traded. He's due $2.51 million, which is too much for a player that's ultimately depth now.

DHB is a joke. When the Chiefs played in Oakland last year, the QB (can't remember if it was JaMarcus or not?) threw the ball right to him on the goal line at the end of the game. Ball hit him right in the numbers. If he hangs on to it, the Raiders either win or can force overtime. Not only does he fail to catch the ball. He juggles it right into the safety's hands for the INT. Game over, Chiefs win.

Maybe he was shocked at a ball hitting him in the numbers.
And all these 2nd rd Mock drafts are funny. All over the board with 20 spot swings on players. Total crap shoot.

haha ya, his stats always look great
and usually 100+ tackles are, but when you are a MLB and 80% of those tackles are making first contact at 7 or 8 yards past the line of scrimmage they don't help the defense much
still think he could make a great OLB, he has the speed but doesn't have the instincts of a good MLB. But he doesn't want to switch, maybe after getting cut/traded he will change his mind

That's very possible. I was convinced they were taking Thomas in the first. So who knows?

And of course now that I said the Niners would take the best player that falls to them, a couple beat writers are now tweeting that the Niners have someone targeted and are looking to move up.

I'm pretty surprised by this pick. But with spread style offences and the fact that Matt Cassel struggles to throw the ball more than 10 yards he is a guy they can get the ball to quick who can break some plays. Seems to run pretty good routes as a receiver, and maybe he can become a weapon in the return game.
I don't think he addresses a need for the team. But than again most years about 25 players drafted are week 1 starters in the NFL.
