Default What exactly is Telus PVR Anywhere?

According to the telus website all you need is one pvr and you can watch and record shows from this receiver on 6 different tvs? Is this hookup done by hard wire?
Once hooked up you apparently can record 3 shows at once and then watch these shows from any tv in the house. What about watching different recorded shows on different tvs at the same time? Can that be done?

How much space do you have to record?

Anybody here have the low down on this system and how it works?

So far it sounds too good to be true. Currently I'm with Shaw and I have an HD PVR and if I want to watch HD on another TV I have to go out an buy a second HD receiver... which sucks... and if I want to record on the second receiver I have to spend even more money on a HD PVR.

I work for TELUS and i actually have this PVR system. its pretty friggen awesome I am able to record 2 HD streams and watch another SD stream at the same time or watch one HD and record another seperate channel its badass. The system uses one PVR receiver that controls everything, if you go onto another tv in the house that has a basic TELUS receiver you can access any of the recordings on the PVR and even start off from where you left on another TV. You would still need to have a HD receiver on the other TV if you wanted to watch in HD on the other TV but i believe with a contract there are no rental fees for the additional box, im not 100% on the billing for the STB.

Im not sure of the actual space that is included in memory size. but its 115 hours of HD prog or 295 of SD.

http://www.telus.com/content/tv/iptv/system/index.jsp

all in all I am very happy with it, I also enjoy how quick it changes the channels and how the SD has been improved. hopefully this helps.

DirectTV2PC is the feature I want... Ironically, so I can send the signal back to my TV which is hooked up to the PVR anyways. Don't ask. Okay, ask if you must.

Why would you like to send it back to your tv? I am gonna guess you have it from pvr to computer to record everything then back to tv from comp?

(sorry I had to since you asked so kindly)

The other good feature with this is that Telus will up your line speed to 15megs and when not in use by your TV system it will be available to your PC.

Is there a way to check in what area that is supported in.

I live within walking distance to downtown and when I enquired Telus TV said I was only available for 15mbps service.

Which meant 1 SD stream (4mbps) + 1 HD stream (8mbps) + 1 3.5 mbps internet. I cant go back to basic high speed which is why I am TV free and have been for a while. Its not a better way to live, but it is different with all this reading and stuff.

Is the technology available to be able to set your PVR recordings on the web? IE: From the office?

I think the more important question is: what will Telus give a guy for trading his Shaw cable box. Some first and second round draft choices?

It's because my 3DTV only works with my computer... not with my Shaw PVR. When Shaw was broadcasting the Masters in 3D the only way I was able to watch it was by streaming it online, which was lower bitrate than the TV broadcast. (Don't worry, the newer ones don't have this problem.)

Actually, this might not even work.

So can I watch one recorded show in one room and at the same time can my wife watch a different recorded show on another tv?

Right now with Shaw, if my wife wants to watch one of her recorded shows (some of which I don't like) I have to go find something else to do while she monopolizes the pvr... LOL (don't tell her I said that).

I have not tried this scenario actually. I can go home and give it a whirl tonight, but since i am able to record 2 HD streams i dont see why i wouldnt be able to watch 2 recorded HD streams at the same time. ill let you know!
