Icelandic Volcano eruption - my brother with some cool video

Not sure if you guys saw this yet, its a thermal image taken overhead of the volcano.

Current eruption could spread to nearby big brother Volcano Katla (at least the reporters can pronounce that.)

There is also the possibility that the activity could spread to the neighbouring Katla volcano.
Dr Sue Loughlin of the British Geological Survey said: 'These two volcanoes are right next to each other, and three out of four previous eruptions of Eyjafjallajokull have been associated with eruptions at Katla.
'Katla is a much bigger volcano and has a much larger ice cap. It is thought to have a large magma chamber at a very shallow depth, so it has the potential to be very explosive and release a large amount of ash.'

It's very selfish of me but as I live directly underneath the Heathrow flightpath I have to say I am loving the peace and quiet and not hearing an airliner overhead every 30 seconds starting at 4:30am. It's kind of eerie never hearing any aircraft actually.

lol Rob Marciano on CNN just showed that Nasa image and suggested all the white in Iceland was the 'north icefields.'

Too bad he doesn't know this is how Iceland looks in summer, notice the lack of icefields

Yesterday morning on the way to work I was listening to the ABC news radio hourly update and they had a report from near the volcano. The journalist on site pronounced the name of the volcano (flawlessly I assume) and when he was done and the main guy came back on air he called him a showoff.

That that was funny.
