Spurs down 1-0 in Extra time against Portsmouth. Could be an upset in the making.

2-0.

Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Poor Spurs.

LOL at the spurs, 24hrs after Portsmouth being relagated, they beat the spurs 2-0 and make it to the FA cup final. Nice!

typical

worst part was Palacios getting the yellow, which he clearly got the ball on so it shouldn't have even been a pen. Plus the Pompey handball not called, the crouch goal disallowed because Kranjcar got pushed in the back

hopefully they got the failure out of the way for the season...

I don't know why I bother watching - I just end up spending the day grumpy.

I hardly think that the referee was the deciding factor here. If anything - other that Spurs' seeming inability to rise to the occasion in big games - it was the state of the pitch. It has been in dreadful condition for some time now and is quite embarrassing for a national stadium.

Straight off the BBC -

Palacios was beaten for pace by Dindane and left Wiley with an easy decision to point to the spot.

Goalkeepers get the benefit of that call (foul on James) 99/100 times - today was no exception. Whether anyone likes it or not, by today's Premiership standards, that was a clear foul on the keeper.

did you watch the game?

even the announcers were calling Wiley a disgrace, and everywhere online I have seen did it as well.

Spurs weren't world beaters by any means, but Wiley made terrible calls on 3 in the box incidents. Completely disagree on that being a foul on the keeper, that happens almost every week and its not called.

Sure did and not one thing was said about it on the broadcast I watched.

I think the UK broadcast was ITV. Seriously, no one said a thing and the debate on Sky Sports News isn't all that robust.

Incidentally, Setanta went bust here a year or so ago.

same thing happened in the US

I think the only thing keeping the Canadian one afloat is the partnership thing it was with another sports channel here

also not discussed yet, and more for the English national team than anyone else

but both yesterday and today the Wembley pitch was absolute crap. If the FA wants to make that their home fortress they could spend a little more on the pitch and the people who tend to it. Maybe stop having a concert their every week

As a gooner and also having a soft spot in my heart for Pompey it's nice to see the Spurs fail immensely. Cheers you spurs fans!

Fyp. I ran into a buddy of mine today after the game, who just so happens to be a diehard Gunner, and even he was saying Spurs got screwed royally. That disallowed goal was a disgrace and you could tell even David James knew it.

Sounds like a bunch of spurs fans whining to me,yet the spurs fans get all upset when wenger does this. Here is the problem with whining on that one call. The fact that you need a refs call to go your way against a terrible team is a problem. If the spurs had a hint of finish in there team they would have won in regulation instead of relying on a ref to help them get to a draw at that point.

You honestly can't see the difference between fans complaining about one poor call, and a manager who does it after every loss?

Agreed, but it doesn't change the fact that it was a bad call. I guess us Flames fans should be totally cool with Gelinas' goal "not crossing the line" in '04, too?
