Hey guys and gals,
My fiances bra wire came out in the wash and we think it's went down those little holes in the main drum into the bowels of the machine. Anyone had this happen before? Will it cause any damage? Also, is there an easy fix, ie, take off the back of the washer and try to find it somewhere in there?

I have no idea on how to help in this situation, but you should know this:

fiance (or fiancé) refers to the man/future bridegroom. Fiancee (or fiancée) refers to the woman/future bride.

From your posting above, we have no choice but to think you're getting married to a guy who wears bras. NTTAWWT.

This happened to my sister in law. Wish I could explain the process ... it did cause problems though.

I can see that happening, the wire provides support, could cause back problems or worse long term.

In all seriousness though depending on the make you should be able to take off that back panel as you suggested and have access. I had the same thing happen with my dryer. Damn women and their beautiful boobies.

Sure...

Common sense tells me there will be two drums, one that spins and one that catches the water and directs it to a drain,water pump...

I would think the wire would be in the second drum, whether it will mess things up or not I don't know, it shouldn't get into the pump.

If you need to get it out you will have to remove the top of the washer, the spinner, and the inside drum. This all comes out the top. Usually the top opens up like the hood of a car from the front, there are clips holding the front edge down. You will need to remove the back panel to allow it to hinge open, and you can see up and around the edge in case it is secured with screws. The spinner is usually held on by a nut under the plastic cap. Pry it off, remove the nut and the spinner should slide off the shaft. Then there will be another nut hooding the tub in. This one is a b**ch. It is quite wide and you really need a special tool to get it off. The tub weighs about 50 pounds it has concrete in the rim for stability. Once you have that out the wire should be sitting in the bottom of the catch tub.

BUT.... if you aren't having issues it will probably just sit harmlessly in the bottom of the tub. It shouldn't migrate into the drain tubes it is curved and won't fit. I'd actually be surprised if it made it's way through one of those holes, the clearance on the other side is fairly tight. If it's not making noises I'd leave it be.

Damn if I was a chick I would be totally turned on, it sounds like there's a high ratio of shaft to nuts manipulation here.

You may get lucky when you go in the back

and if you remove the drain tube from the tub you may be able to grab the wire from there. With the tube off run some water through, (with a hose not by running the washer, electricity and water is bad) and you may flush it to the drain.
