People still fall for this? Should've gotten some speed holes at the same time.

2005 Acura EL with 80,000 kms...loaded with leather. Start munching, guy. Price on here is $12K before negotiations. That means if you're not a complete failure at life you won't be paying one single penny over $11K. Here's a screen capture in case this sells:
I also said you should be able to fine an '04 for ~$10K and I stand by that.
And here's a 2006 CSX for $11,990 with 91,000KMs. In the OP's price range and 10x cooler than a Mazda 3.
3 Justin 3, next time you go car searching give me a call. I'll make sure you get something a helluva lot better than a Slowbalt.

An Acura EL cooler than a Mazda 3?
That's like a 65 year old Asian man vs a 45 year old house wife. They are both unbelievably uncool.
(Not that a Cobalt is "cool")
The only "cool" car Acura ever made was the NSX and the TL, and the new TL's are disgustingly ugly and a 45 year old businessman's car.
On a side note: When the hell is Alfa Romeo coming to Canada. I heard rumors of 2012 but if that were the case I would have heard something by now. I want my Brera. This is the most recent I could find. I guess there is still hope.

lol. You can get a brand new turbo Cobalt for less than $24k and it smacks the turbo 3 in every regard, performance-wise anyway; if you're paying over $30k for a Mazda 3 you have lost your mind.

As most have said, Civic or Mazda3 are both good choices.
I'll throw the Toyota Corolla S into the mix as well. I find it's a little less common than the other 2, and the S model looks pretty nice.

Guess you are too young to appreciate the Acura Integra, especially the Type R, because in it's day it was one of the nicest cars out there.

Wow over 30K for a Mazda 3? My husband bought a BMW 128i for 33K or so (I might be off my 1K) and I bought my MINI Cooper S for 27K..both brand new!

And $33k for a BMW 128 is ridiculous. That car is truly awful.

pff, you'll never need a V6 in a car that size.
It's looks make this guy look respectable:
It is severely over-priced.
Why not just get a 3 series?
(I know a bitch about a lot of cars, and as I own a Cobalt I shouldn't talk, but w/e )

You've clearly never taken one for a test drive, that's one hell of a fun car to drive.

Enough of this. Let's discuss Ferrari's new 458 italia or Pagani and Koenigsegg's upcoming new car(s).
Cheap cars suck. Just go watch the Top Gear segments with their cheap car challenges.

I got a 05 Civic that I just passed 300k with yesterday with absolutely no issues. I don't think you can go wrong with one but just be careful buying from an younger kid that more than likely beat the piss out of it.
My wife owned a 04 Mazda 3 we bought used at 78000k that had some issues, the front wheel bearing went, a EGR valve that kept on plugging up leaving the car with a rough idle, and a heat/ac system that was not very warm in the winter and not cold in the summer. We then found out it was rusting on the back wheel wells so we decided to get rid of it before we had any more issues. I will admit it was a fun car to drive, loved the layout of the dash with some good looking materials inside but it pissed me off that my civic had twice the kms and none of the issues.
