That other player should have tried to catch him.
Players need to show more camraderie and concern for each other in professional sports. They just stand there and walk away. Reminded me what a classy gesture it was for Prucha to check up on Sarich after he went hard into the boards.

Catch him? Watch it again, not a chance he could have done a thing.

I don't really watch much NBA...but flagrant? It didn't _look_ like he pushed him more than a player in that same position would a million times...I feel like I've seen that sort of play a bunch on any highlights I've seen.

It's because basketball players are bigger pussies than girl guides. I thought baseball was pansy, but nothing even touches how soft of a sport that basketball is.

Man, that looked awful when it was shown yesterday, but no way in hell it was even a flagarant foul, let alone a foul at all. The only person who can be blamed for that is Bogut himself for holding on with all the momentum going forward and not being able to hold on long enough.
This will add the the fuel that white man still can't jump...at least not properly.

That guy was totally right there touching him and could have stopped him from falling easily. Instead he backed off to grab the ball after it had already gone through the net. I understand it was probably the usual reflex reaction players make to avoid making a contact foul though.

Ouch. Worst part is that that is two broken bones at once (Radius/Ulna IIRC).
My hope is that he recovers completely.

The guy was right there touching him before Bogut lost his grip on the rim, by the time he started to fall Stoudemire was off to the side and in no position to catch anyone. You are expecting Stoudemire to see into the future. The idea that he could have caught him is so absurd I can't even put it into words.

Didn't break his arm apparently, dislocated elbow and broken hand. A lot less severe than it looked like it would be.

Looks totally possible to me for him to reach out, but he was watching the ball and not the player. Then again, I've never watched a single complete basketball game in my life, just all the similar injuries from similar plays on sportsnet highlights over the years and players just stand around, what do I know?

Superman may have the ability to shoot his arms out that quickly and catch a 300lb man, human beings do not.
