Good for him - it's not McNabbs choice where he goes, the Eagles will take the best offer for him.

Well then we agree, the change should apply to the regular season as well.

I don't think the Eagles will take any offer for him. And in the off-season he can sign a contract with the Vikings.

I really have my doubts that they will trade McNabb, why they are even entertaining it is relatively beyond me.

Adam Schefter tweeted earlier that the Raiders were offering up Asomugha for McNabb. The Eagles were hesitant apparently. Good. Keep McNabb in Philly!

Call me crazy but if I'm the Eagles GM I'm making that deal in a heartbeat. Asomugha is incredible and Donovan has an extremely limited shelf life at this point.

Asomugha has a 1 year $16 M contract with an $8 M roster bonus. That's $24M for a player that could walk on you.

Yeah, as much as that looks like a great deal for Philly there are some big time contractual things with Asomugha. If they're willing to wait a year they can probably get him for nothing. The way the Eagles do things, I imagine they have their mind set on getting that one extra draft pick this year as it's said to be one of the deepest drafts and could rival the 83 draft. The rumours have said top 42 pick, so that maybe hints that the Eagles have 42 guys on their draft board that they really like.

Are there 42 receivers in the draft?

Also, they're not one player away from being a Super Bowl team. They need help at almost every position on the defensive side of the ball, and they could certainly use some upgrades along the O-line. Draft picks make the most sense.

According to Gil Brandt who is a long time NFL personell man, Sam Bradfords pro day is the most impressive pro day since Troy Aikman. Nailed every throw he made. Might be enough to sway the Rams to take him #1 overall. If they don't, it may entice another team to try and trade up into that spot.

The kid's only weakness is his slight build. He could be a little thicker. He's going to be a star.

The word is that he has put on about 15 pounds so far this off season. Mike Mayock from NFL network came away pretty impressed from the work out as well. He more or less figures that the Rams are going to go with Bradford as the top pick.

He said that he saw enough with how he throws the ball, how his feet work to be convinced that the shoulder is okay and that he has the type of delivery required to play in a pro style offence.

Another interesting comment he made when asked about other pro days and my man JaMarcus...JaMarcus had the most impressive arm he ever saw as well as raw talent, but he said no way he could draft that guy in the first round because he didn't love the game enough to do anything with it. Hence why he showed up to training camp tipping the scale at 3 bills last year. Speaking of the Raiders and my favorite player, apparently they are the team showing the most interest in Donovan McNabb. This is a team who did win 5 games last year with absolutely putrid QB play. If they did get McNabb for their 2nd and drafted a good left tackle that win total could rise. But I suspect they won't and that Davis goes for the freak athlete over a good player with their pick.

A couple Steelers notes:

Ben Roethlisberger has been asked to stay away from the team during the off season program. They feel he'll be too big of a distraction for the team. A lot of Steeler fans are really ticked with him and the Rooney family certainly is less than impressed. I can't see them cutting him, but who knows depending on where these allegations end up.

Santonio Holmes who made that catch to win the Superbowl has also had allegations of physically assaulting a woman at an Orlando night club. For Holmes this is the third such occurrance of an off field incident. The Steelers don't want to be the Bengals and their patience is really being tested with these two. Talented players, but off the field they seem to be unable to avoid trouble.

This will suck if it happens. I'm okay with trading McNabb, but don't make the guy go to Oakland.

I'd much rather see McNabb go to the other city in the Bay area myself. I'd like to see the guy go to a good team and do well. The folks in Philly have been pretty harsh on him from the second he was drafted and he's done a lot more to win them over than to justify their disdain. I know I'd love to have him wearing the arrowhead on his helmet, but it ain't happening.

http://www.nfl.com/draft/story?id=09...s&confirm=true

Tennessee safety Eric Berry, considered the top defensive back in next month's NFL draft, has scheduled formal visits with the Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a source with knowledge of the situation said Tuesday. A source told NFL.com's Frank Tadych that Berry also will visit with the Cleveland Browns

One of these teams is not like the others.Former Eagles GM, Tom Heckert is now the Browns GM. I don't see Berry lasting past the Browns, but the Raiders currently hold pick 8 so maybe something is up.

Argh, I'll snap if McNabb is traded to some bottom feeder team. He's been treated like crap from day one in Philly, and he sure as hell deserves a lot better than that. I'm an Eagles fan, but if they hose McNabb after everything he's done for that franchise I'll be beyond pissed. He's a freaking HOF'er in my opinion, and to fark him like that would be garbage.

With the Niners GM stepping away from his position I doubt there will be any trades of that magnitude. SF is going to try something different this year - sticking with an OC and a playbook for more than one season and declaring the starting QB early. And nothing in the OTA changed that plan; Smith was assertive, a leader in the huddle and hit Crabtree in stride on their first 4 attempts; Carr has a strange release and although he has a powerful throw, he was throwing well behind any WR more than 15 yards down the field.

Jason Elam is signing a one day contract so he can retire a Bronco.

http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2010/03/31/j...-day-contract/

What the heck does is matter if he retires as a Bronco, no one will remember him as anything other than a Bronco.
