Yup. Most people with a full time job or kids don't just have the time, you have to make the time. Time is just another excuse.

I suppose you are right but right now I have a very busy schedule. I get to work at 7 am, home around 5ish. Hang out with the kids till they go to bed at 9 pm. The last thing I want to do is go workout to 10:30 at night and then get up and do it all again the next day.
Since January I have dropped 25 lbs by altering my diet. This week I started running at lunch so I should see my weight loss increase. Ideally I would like to drop another 20 lbs or so. At least I'm doing some kind of exercise (running at lunch) and I still have some time to unwind at night.
I find this much more suitable to my situation.

It definitely wasn't my best Day 1 workout. I can usually pump them out pretty good. I've got records of my previous workouts, so I always compare, but it's a good starting point.
The chest and back routine is one of my faves. It's the right length and is a good workout.
Ab Ripper went OK as well. Got through the whole thing, but with breaks here and there. Fifer scissors is probably the toughest for me. I have to force myself to do Ab Ripper though, because a lot of times i'll just skip it after the workout. I need to make sure I do it.
Plyo tonight, which probably is my favorite, too bad I don't really have a good place to do it. I can't do it in my apartment because there are people below me and it makes everything shake in my place, so I have to go to the "gym" in my apartment, which is like a wooden box with plywood floors and when I jump it sounds like bombardment.

Congrats on day 1! My second take on Chest & Back went pretty well last night. I improved on my numbers.
Obviously I have plyo as well tonight but I work out in my undeveloped basement and have plenty of room so it is probably easier for me to get motivated.
Glad you're on board worth. Keep posting updates!

Couldn't agree more. I have a full time job (actually more than full time, put in about 10hrs a day without commute) and have 2 kids (one being 5 months). Kids and job are no excuse.

Thanks bud.
That's what I try to do for each exercise. Each consecutive round I try to improve each exercise in numbers. Even if it is by just 1 pushup or just 1 pullup or whatever. If I don't push myself each time, I get stagnant.
I will. I think this thread will give me a little extra motivation to work out since I have to come on here and tell ya if I bitched out. haha.
In my situation I don't need to lose any weight. I'm 5,8" about 145lbs. i could gain 5 or 10 lbs no problem. I struggle with getting enough calories into me each day.

well at least you've fixed your diet and are losing weight. do what you can, whenever you can and things will work out.
if you have time to run at lunch, is there anywhere you could do p90x instead of running?

Unfortunately I don't have anywhere to do p90x at lunch as I work downtown and I'm pretty sure my colleagues would get a good laugh if I started doing p90x in one of the meeting rooms.
I'm happy with what I'm doing for now. Once I get my basement cleared out I'm actually going to start using the bowflex I purchased last year. I have my inlaws living in my basement til June. (They are living there until their house is finished)

You never know, your colleagues might even join you. I know a few people that do plyo during lunch on the projector where they work.

Friggin' Ab Ripper X...
I get to the oblique pull-ups and give up because for some reason I just can't figure them out.

You mean the v-ups. I find if you rest on your elbow it kind of helps. Also, make sure you are at an angle when lying down and that your movement is at a slight angle. Those kick my butt though.
Crushed plyo tonight. Felt great doing it, worked up a sweat, and it went quickly!

Indeed.
Plyo for me last night started out a little slow. It's my favorite workout, but after being away for a while, it can get hard again. But I think it's probably the most beneficial of all the workouts. If you did plyo once a week for the rest of your life, you'd probably be set.
It's about a million degrees when I do this workout, so it's Hot Plyo, under normal temperature consitions I don't sweat a ton, but last night I was sweating buckets.
You know, on all of these workouts you only get out what you put in. You can just kind of go through the motions and do it, or you can actually force yourself to do better, which is much harder, but it gives you some satisfaction and better results.
I think that's what happened last night. I was taking it easy kind of, and I said, forget taking it easy, put some effort into it.
For example, on the gap jump, you can just lazily jump around, and I was doing that for the first couple jumps, but then I said friggin jump man. I tried to get my vertical as high as I could. It was a workout. Just jumping with all your strength a few times is tough. But if you dog it, it's not going to matter really.
I had my heart rate up to 178. I think that's the highest i've ever seen it, although i've only been wearing the monitor for a couple of months.
I'm looking forward to a rematch next week. I should be able to crush it like you.

I felt strong and limber from the beginning which helped a lot. I agree that plyo is great in that you can always up the intensity to get more burn i.e. you can jump higher and concentrate on landing softer. I don't use a heart rate monitor but I might have to splurge and get one. I guess they are not that expensive these days.
Tonight is shoulders & arms. Great beach workout and tends to go quickly. I continue to improve my numbers for ab ripper. My hip flexors and lower back seem to be strengthening already.
I really do like this program. It is nice to have the structure and keeping track of my progress really helps improve my numbers and increase the overall burn of the workout.

I'm definitely not as strong as i'm used to being. I have lost a lot of muscle mass it seems and endurance, which is the reason for my slow start, but I think I can pick it back up to where I usually am next week.
It's amazing how 1 or 2 days of exercise make you feel a million times better. I love the feeling of sore muscles the next day. Working out is a great way to boost confidence and be healthy and feel good about yourself. I love it.
I guess we're some of the lucky ones to like this stuff, because there are a lot of people who aren't as lucky and hate to work out.
Yeah, I like this workout tonight as well. I'd say this phase is probably my favourite phase for combination of workouts. I like these resistance days better than the ones in phase 2.
I'm counting on you to have a good week 4 Red when you get there. I need motivation to do that week!

Went pretty well for me yesterday as well. Tonight I'm going to do kenpo I think. Save yoga for sat. Or I may get rid of yoga all together and just swim instead.
If you're running red are you dropping an exercise? Or just working out 7 days a week?

I dropped Kenpo. I need to keep running as I am running the police half marathon at the end of April. I will try and do some lunch time runs coming up as well so I will be doing doubles some days. Fun times...

I'm pretty sure Dreya could kick most of our asses at anything really. She seems pretty hardcore.
I did Kenpo on Thursday, Legs and Back on Friday and Yoga on Saturday with a rest/hangover day Sunday.
The first week went pretty well. I'm pretty pleased. I'll be looking at upping my numbers this week and continuing with ab ripper (have to make sure to do it), and even though Yoga is tough, I can see the benefits from it, so i'm going to continue to do it.
My balance is coming back slowly but surely. It's amazing how hard kenpo is when your balance is terrible. Especially the kicks. I felt when I did Yoga on Sat though that a lot of my balance had come back.
The trick is to keep going every day and finding time to do it. Because when you miss a workout, it not only affects you that day, but has an effect the next time you came back to do that workout.
I would really like to go the full 90 days and not miss a workout. I've never done that before. I've probably got to about 75/90 or so the first time I did it.

Thursday: Rest/drink
Friday: I went for a run and ended up doing 18KM. This was my first long outdoor run of the season and I got my butt kicked. Ran the reservoir which is fairly hilly.
Saturday: I woke up extremely stiff from my run and wasn't up to doing legs & back in the morning. I attempted to do it early afternoon but I couldn't even do the first exercise as my legs were killing. I ended up stopping the DVD and stretched for a while and then rode the bike for 45 minutes. Needless to say I was disappointed with myself but at least I still did some exercise, I guess. Perfect record is over though Only two weeks in.
Sunday: Yoga went well. I was still stiff before I started but all of the yoga and stretching really helped.
Last week of this routine and then it is the recovery week. I am really going to "bring it" this week.
