There is a relationship coach named Doc Love who writes for AskMen.com and also has a weekly radio show on WSRadio.com.
A friend of mine is a big follower of the "Doc Love System" and owns all his books - The Dating Dictionary, Mastery 1 and Mastery 2. He's been preaching to me that this is the greatest relationship coaching advice a guy can get, but after flipping through his Dating Dictionary, I can't imagine following everything he says. A lot of it seems like it would never work.
Is there anyone that has bought Doc's materials and is actually using his system? How is it working for you?
I don't know anything about Doc Love but I do know friends of friends who have read "The Game" and swear by it. Seeing them at the bar is actually pretty interesting because these totally normal looking guys do infact pickup solid 8's consistently. I find it amazing because I can barely have a normal conversation with them in a normal setting, but get them around a bar/restaurant type arena and they kill.
I've always been interested myself how many guys stuff like this works for.
Cliffnotes version of every 'seduce any woman you want' book/article ever written:
-Don't dress like a slob
-Treat her like garbage and she will love you
-Be confident
Step 1: Be handsome
Step 2: Be attractive
Step 3: Don't be unattractive
There's also a LOT of free material on the web that is probably better than the Doc Love stuff. I will say that for someone that has never read anything about "Game", even if you don't apply all of it, it is good food for thought.
Doc Love has some solid prinicpals but there is better material out there...
He is not a pick-up coach. Doc Love's material seems like it is more about identifying a quality woman, and behaving appropriately around her so you can keep her long term. His stuff is not centered around routines, or picking up women for one night stands...
My cousin has read the game, and listened to a bunch of other books on tape about women/dating.
Let's just say the man is a genius when he goes to the bar. He honestly does get whatever girl in the bar he wants, and actually has them eating out of his hand. I can't honestly say how he does it, but it is quite the spectacle to watch. I've seen him successfully wheel 3-4 girls all night, and have to pick which one he wanted at the end of the night to take home, because they were all up for it. He's not the best looking guy around, but he consistently plays with 8-10 women like they are putty in his hands, impressvie to say the least.

My buddy was given his system by a friend for his birthday and he as become a convert.
I have read some stuff in it, its fairly basic stuff on how to keep women interested and not appearing to be too eager. Its definately not a one night stand how to book. Its more a book on how to get women you are interested to be interested in you. Also it has a great guideline called the "interest level" to guage how things are going.
One of the first things in the book is to basically ask out total strangers and ask for their phone number. Not for anything meaningful but just for practice. My buddy would go up to random women in grocery stores, older, younger, women with kids, you name it - he would chat them up and ask for their phone number.
In one Superstore he asked for 4 phone numbers. Got slapped once, got 3 numbers. It was quite something to see. As soon as we left the store he garbaged all the numbers. It was quite funny to see.

Step 1 ask her name, Step 2 repeat her name when you are talking to her (so she is flattered you remember), Step 3 throw in some cocky stories about how rich, crazy, or dangerous you are, Step 4 be extremely loud and obnoxious, Step 5 buy her a drink.
Believe it or not, it works. However, it is not going to get a long term girl. Just the type of girl that is looking/open to a one nighter. I think that is the downfall to the plan if you are look for that.

I'm 42 and I've had enough one night stands. My whole dating history outside of one relationship have been really short termed. Mainly because I'm a self important opinionated blow hard with a love for a well made sandwich.
I've always thought that Martha Stewart would be the perfect wife for me because she would probably make a really pretty star shaped sandy.

I've read a bit into The Game, and from what I've read is that it's really about just initiating that connection and making sure that you keep it. Yes, it could be used for a one and done, but, there's also lots of lessons about controlling your voice and appearing more confident in yourself. Slowly I'm sure this is used to build confidence in the reader and then they'll be able to walk up to whomever they choose and take the initial steps and gain the interest of the woman.

I've read The Game, and if nothing else it was a great read. It's not really a "how to" book, more so a look at the lifestyle "pickup artists" try to live.
Even if you are contently married/in a relationship, I would recommend it just an interesting book.
If you are actually wanting to get good a picking up women, yes it's a good start for that too. This stuff does work and there's a ton of material and websites on it. I've never made much effort to learn the tricks, but know from the small amounts I've read they definitely work. And why wouldn't they?
