a quick question about linking a URL

Say I have a link to a URL, say www.google.com,

but I want the link itself to say something else than the web address like say google, but link it like the prior one is. How exactly would I do that

If I understand you right, just highlight the word where you want the link to go.

Do you mean have it display something different in the status bar when you mouse over the link? The only thing I can think of is to use a URL shortener like bit.ly and then link o that.

I found it, it was actually for something on the FFHL website. Each of the stat packages have different links so I wanted to have it just as a summary, say Schedule or Standings instead of the whole link.
