Quick update:

Thursday: Ran on the treadmill for an hour while watching the Flames game.

Friday: Rest

Saturday: Legs & Back: good work out with the legs. Single leg wall squats weren't very fun.

Sunday: Yoga, well I made it through but couldn't complete some of the hard poses but that was to be expected. Feeling pretty loose today which is a nice change. It is amazing what yoga does for strength and flexibility.

Nutrition wasn't that great over the weekend. Had a few too many beers on Saturday night.

Today is chest & back, hopefully I can recover faster than last week.

I just got to my relaxation week (Week 4). So far so good. Have been sticking to the nutrition plan "ok". I have been eating more healthy and trying to take in a bunch of protein and few carbs, but haven't been calorie counting and/or counting the exact number of veggies/carbs/prot/etc...

Just realized that I have Yoga 3 times this week which sucks, as I am aweful at Yoga. My wife and I do the workouts together and she basically laughs at me for 1.5 hrs.

I don't do P90x, but my brother in-law is doing it for the second time right now. First time through he lost 30 pounds. Since then he put some of it back on but now he is dropping the weight again and at the same time it looks as though he is putting on quite a bit of muscle mass.

If I had the time to do 1.5 hrs 6 times a week I would do the program, but unfortunately I don't have the time.

Yeah, I thought I didn't have the time either. I just made time. Unfortunately means waking up earlier for me. A cost that I am willing to endure if it means that I am fit before water sport season.

Since we're doing updates. I abandoned the home gym concept in Jan and joined Golds Gym

I go Tuesday through Thursday and Saturday right now.

I do 45 minutes of cardio usually bike, but some elipical as well.

On tuesdays I do chest, On Wednesdays I do Biceps and Tricep, on Thursday I do shoulders and back. On Saturday I do lets. I do all of this stuff with workouts that combine machines, some free weights, cables.

Every that I'm at the gym I do some ab work as well.

I've dropped my waist line over the last year from 44 to 36. My chest is 50, I've lost a little bit on my biceps.

Weight loss is about 35 pounds over the last 8 months though. I'm down from 270 to 235 with my goal weight being 215.

I have thought about joining a gym. My place is not really big enough and I don't really like working out in my living room, and it prevents me from owning a kitchen table, but its better than nothing.

How much is a place like Golds per month?

About 50 a month for the basics. It costs more if you hire a trainer and so on.

But I actually like working out at the Golds south, its not like other gyms I've been to that are like social clubs for the desparate.

I friggin hate the yoga routine, for me, it's by far the worst. I find it extremely boring and repetitive. I normally go for a swim instead.

This is Crowfoot YMCA. Christ, can't wait for Talisman to complete their upgrades so I can go back to a place where people actually exercise.

Yep, I will be starting today. I'll post how it goes tomorrow. I work out after I get home from work. I start work too early in the morning to get up and work out. I don't want to get up at 4:30am.

Do you use a recovery drink at all? I started a thread a while back about this, but I find a recovery drink an integral part of my workout. Big difference when I use one and when I don't the next day.

Yup, I make sure I get one right after I work out. I usually buy one at the gym.

Ditto. I read this on here (perhaps in this very thread). I have used the "P90X" recovery drink, chocolate milk, and no drink at all. To be honest I don't really notice a difference at all. Although, it is a nice treat to get chocolate milk, so I have stuck with that.

Right after my workout I chug back some water with some Glutamine and then I generally have a protein shake about 30 minutes after.

Good luck with the first day. I work at 7:00am so I do my workout right when I get home. What is your set up (i.e. weights or bands, chin up bar, etc)?

Yeah, i'm at work at 7 also.

I have 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 lb dumbbells. Could probably use 35lb dumbbells for a few exercises, and 5 or 8 for a couple other ones also.

I have a p90x chin up bar actually, which works pretty well, and of course a yoga mat. And I even got a yoga block a couple months ago which makes yoga MUCH better.

For you guys who don't like yoga, go out and get a block for sure. It makes a difference. It helps. I totally forgot that I had that. I've probably only done yoga 2 or 3 times with it. They are like 7 bucks. it's a good investment.

			Day 1 in the books.

Went fairly well, although I need to make sure I'm eating a snack at around 4pm, otherwise I don't have nearly enough energy by the time i'm working out.

It definitely wasn't my best Day 1 workout. I can usually pump them out pretty good. I've got records of my previous workouts, so I always compare, but it's a good starting point.

The chest and back routine is one of my faves. It's the right length and is a good workout.

Ab Ripper went OK as well. Got through the whole thing, but with breaks here and there. Fifer scissors is probably the toughest for me. I have to force myself to do Ab Ripper though, because a lot of times i'll just skip it after the workout. I need to make sure I do it.

Plyo tonight, which probably is my favorite, too bad I don't really have a good place to do it. I can't do it in my apartment because there are people below me and it makes everything shake in my place, so I have to go to the "gym" in my apartment, which is like a wooden box with plywood floors and when I jump it sounds like bombardment.

If I had the time to do 1.5 hrs 6 times a week I would do the program, but unfortunately I don't have the time.

if you really wanted to do it, you would find the time.
