I'm starting that Insanity workout tonight. I'm doing it because I'm traveling and it doesn't require weights, therefore I don't have to commit to equipment (minus my shoes). Hopefully this program does some good, I'd do P90X if I could right now but it just isn't feasible if you're not at home.
I hope I don't go delirious from all the insanity! Juah ahahahaha!

Day 1 in the books. Got my butt kicked. Not having done ab ripper for about a year I really notice it in my hip flexors today. Back to square one with chin ups. I was able to do 10 reverse grips however at my peak during my last round I was doing around 22-24 so there is plenty of work to be done.
Day 2 after work today is Plyometrics. I enjoy the workout but find my feet cramp pretty easily. Looking forward to a big sweat.

I've been less than dedicated to the workouts, my uneven work schedule leaves me having a hard time getting into a workout pattern.
I'm still following the nutrition program fairly well and I'm using this recovery week to get back on schedule with my workouts. I've lost 12 lbs so far, likely would have been closer to 20 had I done every workout every day.
I think I just need to suck it up and get my workouts done early in the morning. No excuses.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you weigh before you started the first time? 40 lbs is damn good.

I've done 4 of the arm workouts, and my biceps already look better than they ever have in my life.
P90X combines everything I've learned about adding muscle mass and being fit into one package. It's quicker, cheaper and better than a gym.
Bring it!!!

I am very sore now, chest and back are sore. Hard to touch the top of my head. Need to get some more energy here to do plyometrics.

We should get a group of us to all do it at the same time to encourage each other to do it.
The last round I did of it was about 10 weeks and I started at the beginning of Jan. I basically only did the weight routines, and I pretty much skipped out on the recovery weeks.
For some reason, I have no idea why, but I can not do a full recovery week. I can do a full phase 1, 3 weeks. But when I get to that 4th week I always bust.
I play a lot of hockey so I was using that as my cardio. I really don't like doing the yoga for some reason. I think it's a mental think. I have to push through it. It's not that it's hard or difficult, it is for sure, but it just seems like it's not enough activity and I go all ADD on it.
I should have started again yesterday so I could do it with you red. Maybe next Monday I will start and then I will just be a week behind you.

Do it! Even if you are behind a week it will be good to have someone doing it along with you. I play rec hockey but my season is done. Now golf season is approaching so I will have to balance my schedule again to get my workouts in.
As for Yoga, I dread that the most. I too find it boring but I actually find the first half quite difficult as I am not very flexible. I do find that it is very beneficial though so I am going to give it a try with a positive view. I won't be doing the schedule exactly in order as I want to do yoga's on saturday's but I will be getting all the work outs in. I will sub running for kenpo however, kenpo sucks.

Crushed Plyo last night. I was actually surprised I was able to keep up for most of the exercises as it has been a while since I have done it. It is always a great feeling when you get to the sports section knowing that you have pretty much completed it. Legs and butt are sore today though. Shoulders and arms this evening.
I hope people don't mind me posting in here as much as I am. I am sure I will calm down as I go further along into my program.

How dare you post about p90x in a p90x thread.

Last night was shoulders and arms. I really like this workout, it seems to go really quickly which is probably the best part. Ab ripper was difficult once again. My lower back & hip flexors aren't strong enough for the first few exercises and I really struggle with the oblique sit ups. That was the same case on my first round, as with anything, the more you do it the easier it gets.
Tonight I will be running instead of doing Kenpo. If the weather doesn't comply I will just run on the treadmill while I watch the Flames game. Actually I will probably do that anyways. Technically I should be doing Yoga but I will be doing that on weekends as it takes so damn long.
My chest is still sore from Monday's workout, I might have overdone it but perhaps next week I will recover a little faster. Also, my hamstrings and glutes are still quite sore from plyometrics.
As for the nurtition, I am not following the P90x guide but I have been definitely eating healthy this week. Also, I have been having protein shakes in the morning. Trying to cut out pasta is difficult but so far so good.
That is all for now.

Thanks for posting lots of updates. It's good to follow along. I've been doing a homemade version of P90x (I've done P90x before and I basically took all of my favorite exercises from it and made my own routine) since early January now, and I'm down from 205 lbs to 187 and a lot stronger. My goal was to hit 182 lbs by April 1st, so I'll be getting close to it but probably fall short by 2 pounds or so as losing 5 in 6 days is difficult and unhealthy for the most part.
Keep up the good work and stick with it!

Yoga is only 15 minutes longer than the other workouts that include the ab ripper. And you can trim it down by shortening the warm up,skipping some of the end poses like corpse and don't do any ohms.

Yeah, it definitely feels long. It's a mental thing like I said before. Haha.
Keep with the updates red. I'm going to start next week as well. Changing up the yoga to sat is not a bad idea. I think i'll post updates as well. Hopefully will motivate me a little more.
I feel so crappy when I don't work out. It sucks. But it's much more difficult to balance life when you do work out. And balance your diet. I can remember sometimes not wanting to eat pizza or fast food or bar food when out with friends because that's not in the "diet guide". haha.

Actually, I think I am going to move Yoga to Sunday. I will do legs & back on Saturday so as to give my back another day to rest before chest and back on the Monday.
Also I have the 1st and 3rd Friday's off so I will be mixing up when I take my rest/stretch day. I generally like to rest on the last work day of the week so sometimes that will be Thursday and other times Friday. Tonight I run, tomorrow is rest, Saturday is legs & back, and sunday is Yoga. Next week will be different with the long weekend.

I don't really like working out on weekends. I find it much harder to get into it on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, rather than right when I come home from work. I'm definitely not working out on Sunday. That's the day of... not working out... day.
