A hidden gym for Fish n Chips is in a small hidden spot in Brentwood:
Captain's Fish & Chips6-3802 Brentwood Road Northwest, Calgary, AB T2L 1K8
It's behind the Pizza Hut tucked in the corner spot between a dentist's office and a dollar store.
Fantastic stuff. Best I've had since moving here in the 90s.

^Agree. I used to go there all the time when I working in that area or going to school. It even got me back into liking fish and chips again after a few bad experiences with Joey's Only all you can eat night.

Mr. Spud's in Okotoks is very good.
Mudders in the NE was very good, but I haven't been there in years. They used to serve a basket with fries, then fish, then some kind of stuffing covered in a gravy. Probably took a few years off my life, but damn was it good.

+1 for Pelican Pier. The Tartar sauce is one of the best I've ever tasted.
I did notice that the British Chippy has import pop from the UK including Irn Bru. (That is the correct spelling). Anyone ever try this abomination?

I thought this thread was asking for recommendations, so I came here specifically to mention Sea. Guess I didn't need to Still, in the years I've been here, it's the only one that has been even close to replicating the taste of fish and chips back home, particularly the chips.

Yeah, had it a few times. It's not the best. It's popular in Scotland, which is pretty much all you need to know about it.

Captain Scotts Fish and Chips in the Castleridge plaza.
They give you the choice of fish (Cod, Haddock, Bluefish, maybe there are others, I forget them all) and it is wrapped in paper for takeout.

Another vote for Sea. Great fish and chips.
I've only had the calmari there once, but it was amazing. Perfectly cooked (ie not rubbery like most places serve it), flakey batter, and it was mixed up with some fried red onions and red bell peppers.

It's always deserted - don't know how they stay in business.
