OK. I have finally had it. Your racist, sexist, bigoted posts have got to stop.
I have yet to see a useful post coming from your account. All you do is mock and belittle people, and never have ANYTHING constructive to say. CP would be better off without your vile hatred infesting this board. This site used to be a great place to hang out and talk with fellow Calgarians about their favourite sports team and their city... that was before posters like you started to drag down the entire board into a repulsive cesspool of bipolar teenagers. Until you can learn to post with a little more empathy for your fellow human beings, I see no reason for you to be here.

As a left leaning person, I have to say I am a huge fan of Coulter, as should every liberal leaning person. Her thoughts are ridiculous, borderline, racist, nonsense and only serves to push people away from the centre to the left.
Like it or not, many who don't follow politics very closely see the conservatives and the American Republicans in the same light. It is a shame in a way as there are so many level headed, intelligent, conservatives/republicans, but Coulter puts them all in a bad light. I mean she drives people away with her drivel. She is the best thing that could happen for left wing politics.

Muslim is not a race. It is a religion. Considering the insults on this board towards Christianity there are a whole whack of racists posing as Atheists.
Freedom of speech is just that. Freedom to say what you like whether someone else likes it or not. To suppress that right and we all lose. As for her Muslim comments....definitely ignorant and mean. Not racist.

If she is so smart why doesn't she go cure cancer or something.
Its ironic that she is crying "hate crime" when her very existence promotes hate.

What an incredible exaggeration.
Twisted and evil.
I would say those protesters threatening violence and preventing her from speaking are the twisted ones. Evil is Hamas. Couter is a blowhard.
Can anyone tell me when such mob tactics were used on a leftwing speaker or someone not from Israel?

Well if it isn't my favourite lack of reading skills friend.
Yes I know there are conservatives that are all nice and quite when it comes to Liberal truisms. John McCain being one. But then he is a wanker. I was talking about the ones that take a nice sharp UN-PC knife to them. Ever met Pat Condell?
A nice atheist...that sounds rather like Coulter

I don't get it.
Coulter disparaging people from the Middle East is free speech, and is good.
Students protesting the university giving a forum for this hatred is anti-free speech and is bad.
Can't I say the reverse is true?
Students protesting the university giving a forum for Coulter is proving we do have free speech and is good.
Coulter decrying the protestors is anti-free speech and is bad.

What a ######. I'm glad to see the ottawa U students protest and not let a ignorant, white supremacist bigot speak there.
If her comments were directed to the jewish community she would have been arrested.
By the way, her comment re: camel were made to a 17 year old student. Way to enlighten the youth to be open minded and get over such stupid dividers of society like race/religion.
Honestly, she can go ___ herself.
(i'm not a muslim, i just find this kind of behaviour appaling. I find the fact that she is successful and not ridiculued in this day and age even worse).

To be honest, all this controversy has made me more interested in seeing her speak tomorrow at the U of Calgary.

She is an embarassment to Christians. Advocating the killing Muslim leaders and making Muslims convert to Christianity goes against what the Bible says. When Muslims advocate the same thing, they call it "Jihad". Embarrassing.

I sure hope the U of C follows the U of O's lead. We should give Coulter some Calgary hospitality by telling her to GTFO and only come back when she has something constructive to say.
Although, if we did that, we'd never see her again.

I'm actually upset that they didn't let her speak.
I think back a couple of years to when Ahmadinejad addressed NYU and the United Nations. I was in New York at the time and the protests and arguing were amazing.
Needless to say, the speeches went on despite the protests, and were ultimately viewed for what they were.....proof of insanity, hatred and stupidity disguised as passion.
Since that day in New York, Ahmadinejad has been an international joke.
Shoulda let Coulter speak last night.....

One can only hope.
Central to the right of free speech is the responsibility to accept the consequences of it. If this female body part wants to promote hate, she will receive hate in return. She's no better than Fred Phelps, and should be treated the same.

Freedom of speech ends when it incites hate. Whether that be based on religion, race, etc.
True, Islam is a religion and not a race. But it is the predominant religion of Arabs. I doubt that Coulter would care if an Arab Christian from Lebanon was denied flying - that's just collateral damage and would somehow protect America. The Middle-Eastern guy was denied boarding - phew - that was a close one.
Painting all Muslims (and therefore, most Arabs) as terrorists and promoting something outlandish like not letting any of them fly at all, is simply blatant discrimination. Deciding whether it is based on race or religion is splitting hairs - pick one.

I'm going to prevent you from listening to Snoop Dog and ban him from Calgary. His lyrics promote violence and the abuse of women. I must save you from yourself.
I don't like Coulter either (or anyone that privately profits from public rabble-rousing), but some people want to hear her speak.
The U of C should hold a protest for sure. That said, protests should be about voicing a collective opinion, not silencing an individual.

Creating a situation where her physical safety was in question will be a huge mistake for those opposed to her . . . . although they'll probably be too stupid to get it.
Coulter expressed her outrage, calling the University of Ottawa a "bush league" institution in an interview for The Washington Times.
"This has never happened before," she told the newspaper. "I go to the best schools, Harvard, the Ivy League and those kids are too intellectually proud" to threaten speakers.
She's right. She does speak at those elite schools. It really makes the University of Ottawa and by association to some extent, Canada, look "bush league."
Good choice of a phrase on her part. She'll milk that for a long time.

I cant say I am surprised.
College students in that area of the country have a history of throwing temper tantrums when they dont get there way. If its not Ottawa/Carelton with Coulter its Concordia with Netanyahu. Its obvious that alot of children in that part of the country were not disciplined properly by their parents and as such they believe they can act like a brat and get away with it.
Some people simply dont like to hear an opinion that differs from their own and in order to make themselves feel better they throw insults and slurs. Instead of being laughed at like they would be in public (even though its unlikely they would have the guts to say what they do here in public), it is accepted as this is an internet forum. Thus is life in the new digital age.
