Plus, Im sure that's something the bank isn't going to require for a mortgage. Why do they care if you're out of a home for a year or so? As long as they're getting paid and the building is being rebuilt, alls well for them.
I wasn't asking if it was a bank requirement, mortgages only require fire coverage, that's why I asked if there was a separate form of insurance, so that you don't need to continue to pay your mortgage + rent to live elsewhere while the building is being rebuilt - nothing to do with bank requirements.

The person didn't accidentally put their smoke in a flower pot. They intentionally butted out in the flower pot. Their stupidity accidentally caused them to think it was a good idea.

I'm not saying that the smoker feels good about the situation but that really means f all in the grand scheme of things. Remorse doesn't make 150 homes magically reappear.

Peat moss is highly flammable. There's even been records of it spontaneuosly combusting due to heat created from decomposition.

I have an old pot on my front porch that people put their butts in when out there smoking, luckily there wasnt much peat left, but was left burnt up. was kinda scary going outside in the morning with the pot smouldering.

This person has no one to blame but themself for that. However everyone else who is homeless...has that person to blame. It doesn't matter if it's an accident or not. The person was carelss and they caused 300 people to be homeless. If your gunna smoke..be responsible.

Now what's really funny is that you didn't understand the sarcasm so you came back with your vast knowledge of the flamability of peat moss but when you found out it was all just sarcasm and that you fell for it you got all defensive.

I love the internet.

I'm sure everyone here has made mistakes that in the absolute worst case scenario could have ended up badly like this situation. But I'm sure some people will deny that with their ever encompassing presence of mind.

Time to break out the old "do you ever speed" comment.

Soon we'll move to drinking and driving.

Then Hitler.

I think the thread should be closed now.

Although that would take away all the predictable fun!

No need to be defensive... or are you offensive in this case? Either way, I'm not sure why you bothered posting (which is sort of funny that you did).

Soooooo . . . ummmm . . . I JUST got an ad in the mail for suites in this development. Seriously?

(I guess the other building that didn't burn down might still have suites for sale maybe.)
