There's an award for "North American Vehicles"? I thought everything made in NA is unreliable and crap?

No, Ford has been making quality cars for a long time. Some people just think they are above anything made here.

Yeah I love that thing...what a great, practical car that will be perfect for so many people. It's also available as a 5 seater, not just a cargo unit.

As an aside, didja hear they're bringing back the 5.0 in the 2011 Mustang and it'll have over 400 horsepower!

Update, I guess Canada Post doesn't find this van as useless as some people on the board seem to think. It's going to replace its fleet of mail carrier with Ford Transit's.

Since it's update time, the 2011 Mustang 5.0 is to have 417 horsepower per the dude at Advantage Ford.

This should secure the Mustang as the most horsepower/dollar car on the road. That's a pretty killer title, IMO.

An astrovan maybe bigger, but you'd be surprised on how much more efficient on cargo space these new vehicles have become.

I would not be surprised to hear these things can hold just as much if not more than the average astro van.

Golly Table you sure showed me. I still think its useless for a tradesperson who has to carry an extension ladder, tools, and a bunch of material around all day.

Trusting dealership employees for information is never a good call:

The new 2011 5.0 is certified at 412HP and 390 ft/lbs.

It's going to be fast for sure, I know my old man is picking one up for weekend cruising around his cabin

Uh oh, looks like the CAW is "outraged" that Canada Post is not buying a vehicle made by them. They wanted them to buy Caravans instead as they are built in Windsor.

http://www.driving.ca/research-car/n...136/story.html

While buying Canadian is a good thought, if the product is inferior, I woudn't do it either. The Transit has better fuel efficiency and much lower Co2 emissions, and a more compact design better suited for deliveries.

Plus if it pisses off a union, I'm all for it. Maybe instead of whining and trying to push mom vans, the union should push for a Chrysler vehicle that can match it in terms of performance and efficiency.

Very interesting how they get around the 25% import tax on commercial and cargo vehicles.

Its mileage would seem like a big detractor imo. If you start seeing Telus and Shaw driving around these then you know they are here to stay.

Yeah, I dont really like the look of the Transit, I think its hideous, but it certainly seems practical. Particularly for trades, its got lots of room and you can have your tools inside the thing rather than in a truck box.

Also, I cant thank it because its too old, but that Postman Pat video was AWESOME!

FINALLY indeed! This can actually compete with the styling of a Subaru Impreza or Mitzubishi Lancer.

Good on Ford for actually moving forward with designs and concept. Bringing the Transit to America shows me that they have the balls to compete in the car industry.
