Or to staying in the Premier League, as was the case with Charlton.

Since Chelsea lost out of the Champions League, apparently Ancelotti will be fired if Chelsea doesn't win the Premier League title now.

Who is going to want to work for Abramovich if this does happen???

anyone he offers the job too

Ancelotti if he gets fired will get a huge pay day

and its one of the best jobs in the world for a coach, almost unlimited resources

Very true, however, the article says that Rijkaard turned down the job. Maybe the "top" managers don't want to go there because of that reason, because they can find big money at other clubs.

The pressures will be the same at any other club with similar aspirations. Real Madrid cycles through managers on a more than one a year pace, you dont hear of that job being turned down unless there's another big time club in the mix.

Defoe out with a torn hamstring.

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...ngland&cc=5901

What a ridiculous year for injuries. I have to give Harry quite a bit of credit for keeping his team in the top four while dealing without a ridiculous amount of important players for large chunks of the season.

At least Pavlyuchenko's been ripping it up lately.. also this allows Darren Bent to widen the goalscoring gap in the hopes of making it to South Africa

Not that he doesn't deserve to go, but I think Bent is still behind Cole, Crouch, Hesky, and possibly Abonglahor.

Defoe out hurts

maybe not this weekend because I think Harry might have gone with Crouch and Pav's size against Stoke but Defoe needs to be healthy by at least the Chelsea game on april 17th, because I think they beat Fulham at home next wednesday which would move the Arsenal game to later in the year as the FA cup semi-final would be the same weekend.

the games for the next few weeks should be winnable without JD though, Stoke away is probly the toughest, Fulham at home in the cup should be a win, same with Pompey at home, Sunderland away is tough but winnable.

Unfortunately I think so too which would be a shame for England, but Cole isn't even starting for West Ham these days so hopefully he can nick in in front of him. Either way another 2 goals for Bent today puts him past the 20 goal mark. Good result for Spurs today too Stoke is a tough place to go into.

Eidur was great today

I don't think Bent makes the team

I think they probly go 5 strikers

Rooney, Defoe are probably the guaranteed ones if healthy

Heskey and Crouch are probly their as well

leaving 1 spot for either Bent, Agbonlahor or Cole

I would personally go Bent, but I think Capello probly takes Gabby

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!! I PVR'd the game today to watch it later. Then I went to TSN, who never have Spurs stories on their front page, to check out some NHL news and right on the front page they had the score of the Spurs game. s!

Sucks that Pav got hurt today. This is just getting unbelievable. Is there any chance they can bring Keane back early?

nope, you can call back domestic loans whenever but not international

Harry said Pav coming off was more of a precaution

hopefully he doesn't miss more than a week or two

they have Fulham wednesday and Pompey next weekend

Yeah, that's what I thought but I wasn't sure. Apparently they're still courting that Sandro kid from Brazil. We'll have to wait until the summer to see if they can finally work out a deal.

ya I saw some things out of Brazil that say it could be done this weekend, Sandro has been trying to learn english as well to better prepare himself for next season

I think he is going to be very good, and if Spurs do make the CL for next season he will be the perfect compliment for Palacios when they need 2 Defensive midfielders out there

Great result out of Ewood Park this aft. Should be an interesting run to the end of the season.
