Getting an iPhone in a couple hours. anyone want to talk me out of it?

Unfortunately yes. In the states you can use itunes gift cards for app purchases, but there's something wonky about the Canadian system. In my brief internet digging it would appear that Apple says there's something at the government level that prevents it while the government disagrees. Seems very confusing.

Have you tried a full restore? My 3g literally went from silky smooth to overly slow almost overnight. I've been meaning to do a restore to see if that solves it, but I don't really use it since I got my 3gs. You're right, with no multitasking the # of apps shouldn't matter.

Not to hijack the thread, but I've done everything short of wipe and restore. I make be making more of an issue out of it than it is. It is just a lot slower than it used to be. Took a bunch of music etc off it even to try to help. It just lags are the worsts times like while texting, or when I unlock it.

If their plan is for me to look forward to iPhone 4 its working.

The new one in June, or the Nexus... hmm

There's no nefarious plot in play here.

Just wipe your phone and restore the OS. Reinstall all your apps, and if it happens again then just repeat the process without including your most recently purchased app... rinse and repeat until you find the app that is hooking into your text input and causing lag in your keystrokes.

It's a pain in the ass, but with 150,000 apps to choose from, there's bound to be some conflicts once in awhile.

I updated to 3.1.3 just a few weeks ago, so I'm not sure..

I assume you have all your contacts synced as well?

I have a MobileMe subscription, so all my calendars, email and contacts are housed on Apple's servers. I just plug in my user name and password after a restore, and they all appear on my iPhone. It's all mirrored on my Macs and PCs (through Outlook) as well.

Seems like this is turning into a bitch about your iphone problems.

When I first got my phone the speaker on it was great. I would pretty much always use speaker phone when I was at home alone. I would even use my ipod function while I showered and would be able to hear the music clear.
Lately it seems like the speaker has turned to garbage. Speaker phone sucks and the volume on my ipod/youtube etc functions is significantly quieter.
