So who's all going out for the big day? It's probably my favourite damn day of the whole year, every year I have a legendary time. Usually hit the bar by 2-4pm and just shut er down. I'm interested to hear where people are going and what events they've heard about around town for the big day(especially those of you in Deadmonton, where I reside. Been so busy with term papers that I haven't had time to search around too much). I don't know if its just Edmonton, but people don't seem to celebrate it as much up here as they do in Calgary. Reason #173 why Edmonton blows...
I'm contemplating either The Druid in downtown Stinktown, or just sticking to St. Albert where I live and hitting O'Maille's. Done both in the past and was a good time.
Beauty! Nothing makes me wanna drink like Irish music. Actually thats one reason I'm not 100% on O'Maille's. I went there last year and it was just some Irish guy playing low key, acoustic Irish tunes, it was kind of a bummer actually.
I have two requests for St. Patty's Day: authentic Irish music, and green beer(I know thats not authentic, but I just love taking a nice, big green s*** the next day).
Location: In my office, at the Ministry of Awesome!
Exp:
Green beer on St. Patrick's Day is stupid.
Black beer on St. Patrick's Day, is slightly more awesome than it is on any other day of the year.
I should add, that one of the main reasons I hate green beer, is becasue it's usually the sh!++!est beer in the joint. Dying Canadian or Kokanee green does not make it better.

Just drink a slurpee, no need to wait a year.

Haha but it feels so much more well-earned the day after St. Pats. You really know that you earned that green log.
Haha I knew I'd get beaked a little for the green beer thing. What can I say, that's how I roll baby! If it helps, I always start the night(or afternoon I should say) off with a Guinness, every year. That's the classy part of the day before the debauchery begins..

Nope! Pretty sure Sylvanfan is too, or at least he was last year. It helps me psychologically, as I can tell myself I don't actually live in Edmonton.
I think Syl moved to BC last year.

Not to mention you're not the first Flames fan I know in our faculty I know of others.
Oh ya I saw quite a few Flames jerseys/hats in Inclusion and Assessment lectures last semester...actually I see them around campus quite a bit. The Flames are pretty well represented at the UofA. Actually IF the Flames make the dance and you're still stuck on campus studying for finals or whatnot, might I recommend Hudson's on Campus, on the lower level to watch the games. I went there after a final to catch game 1 of San Jose/Calgary in '08 and it was a virtual Sea of Red down there.
I'll probably get slayed for saying this but I don't really see what appeal is of going out on St. Pattys day??? I know I have to get up for work on Thursday morning.......I'll wait until the weekend.

FALSE!
It does make it better!!
