Every single BF game I've bought (which is close to all of them) has had server browsing issues to start with... and even after it clears up they still have the worst server browsers of any game I've played.

For those with the 360 edition (and I assume the PS3 edition as well), they are working on the servers and everything should be working perfectly by the end of the weekend. They are working on them in the early EARLY morning, so if you can't find a match if you play as late as me, that's why.

BTW It makes a difference if you search in capitals or lowercase if you are searching for hardcore servers.

Turned my graphics down quite a bit to smooth up the framerates, and wow things are better now. I got close to 3000 points one round! When you find a really good squad it's like being on easy mode lol.

I've had my settings turned down for a while. It makes a huge difference especially when it gets frantic. Being in a good squad makes a huge difference.

Question: Is the only way to play the VIP maps is by specifically selecting them when starting a quick match? I always have "Any" selected for Maps. Am I missing maps when doing this?

No, I get them all the time. Too bad I hate Nelson Bay with a passion. Games take like 4 times longer playing on that map as everyone is a sniper.

They do get picked though.

What's the map that has the comm stations on the little island during the first wave? I played it last night and EVERY player on my team but me was a sniper. All they did was have snipers wars with the other team - it was totally ridiculous.

Lately the game has been super frustrating. Everyone snipes, no one goes for objectives. So basically we have a thirty minute sniping game.

Just depends on the server. If my team blows and everyone camps I find another game to join. Most people suck at sniping anyhow so if you keep running and moving all the time you wont get hit.

I was playing on Arica Harbour (I believe it is), the huge massive one where you start in the desert.

Remember for the xbox 360 the teams are 12v12. I spawn and immediately go to the stationary rocket to fend off tanks. After I blow the first one up I get off and look to my right and I see 9, count them 9 snipers all on the same hill sniping.

Just pathetic. This game was 12 vs 12 and in 27 minutes of gameplay I saw 4 enemies. They eventually blew the first 2 comm's up (and they have 8 to go), and after 27 minutes of nothingness I just left.

There gets to a point where DICE needs to make a gametype that excludes the Recon class.

I also hate when I get put on a squad only to find out all 3 of them are Recon and are chilling at the base (playing Rush). So useless.

The most frustrating thing is though is that my team is always stacked with Recon and I am always sniped by the opposition. Just useless.

You should have launched the tube at the hill and scared them off.. I would just jump squads until I found one with useful people. Besides with only 3 guys vying for vehicles you should have ran up the score in a tank.

Yeah I'm starting to switch squads around now.

They're releasing a server for this game eventually right? Hopefully they'll be able to setup class limits.

lol.

I went out and bought the game today based off the first 8 pages of this thread... as i am starting to get sick of MW2...

Now it sounds like its not a ton better with everyone being snipers and such... sounds alot like COD: WAW... everyones a sniper...

anyways, I got it for PS3 if anyone here wants to add me (snagger03) and play... although i may need some seasoning to get used to it

Every online game has problems like that; your online experience will depend entirely on how good the server is you are on.

For Team Fortress 2 there's maybe a dozen servers I play on, and only 2 or 3 that I play on 90% of the time, because I know the regulars and I know the admins are active and they'll just kick a moron or scramble the teams if they're stacked.

Same when I played BF1942.

Once you find some good servers (and I wish you could favorite a server while you were in it, or maybe you can and I just don't know how) it gets better, I just haven't found many good ones yet, but that's partially because the server browser is horribly broken.

I actually started team killing a bunch of my guys who were just sitting there sniping. Not sure if that's bannable or something but I didn't care at that point.

Or make it harder to snipe. Right now it's incredibly easy - account for a little bit of gravity and headshot. It takes more skill to NOT get sniped than to snipe.

A little scope sway and recoil would see the sniper numbers come down.
