The Riders are about to announce a long term contract with Darian Durant Wednesday or Thursday.

Stampeders released MLB Tim Johnson due to family reason. Sad to see Johnson leaves. This guy is a beast but he doesn't feel like he can commit with the Stamps all season long due to family reason. I guess Huffer doesn't have any choice but release him. Maybe they will move Malik Jackson in the middle.

As for Buck Pierce, former BC QB. The guy is making so much money $300K for someone who is one hit out of his career. No question on his skills and toughness but concussion problem in football is not a good sign. We saw what happenned to Dickerson a few years ago. Not sure if any team will gamble on him unless he takes a very huge pay cut like sign for $60K.

The stamps release Tim Johnson.

Are they in the Zeke Moreno hunt?

Not so sure what the Argos are doing when it comes to their quartebacking? Yesterday they traded with Saskatchewan for some unknown QB then today, they signed former Bills QB Hamdan. Are they going with the new QB not a rethread? It is going to be interesting season for the Argos fan.

It's believed that general manager Brendan Taman is working on extending the contracts of receivers Weston Dressler and Rob Bagg.

If you don't know who Weston Dressler is then you don't watch the CFL.

I was at the Car Show today and Jeff Pilon and Ryan Thelwell was there signing autographs. I spoke to Pilon and spoke about Sandro. He was kind of dissappointed that he signed with Hamilton but it's business. Ryan Thelwell on the other hand told me he'll play another season and that's it.

Man, those 2008 Grey Cup rings are huge!!!

The Stamps released both Shannon James and Demetris Summers this morning. I found it a little surprising, but they'll both have suitors I'm sure.

New stadium for the Bombers confirmed.

Quote:
Canad Inns was built in 1953 and seats 29,533. The new stadium will have 33,000 fixed seats but be able to accommodate 40,000 for major events like the Grey Cup — which will be held in Winnipeg by 2017, Selinger also announced.
There will also be 40 private suites and a Hall of Fame for the club.
The stadium will be built on an eight-hectare site at Chancellor-Matheson Road and University Crescent on the U of M campus. An inflatable dome will cover the field in winter so university teams can use it during the CFL off-season.

In addition to the stadium, the site will feature a multiplex athletic facility for the university and its Bison sports teams.

It will include a refurbished university stadium and new fitness centre.

Combine that with the new stadium that is going to be built in Regina and two of the oldest crappiest stadiums in the CFL will now be replaced with state of the art buildings.

I recall hearing that there was an issue with building any new domed stadiums in Winnipeg. There was some sort of an issue with the agreement the MTS Centre had, and a fear that another large domed facility would get concerts and other things the MTC would need to generate revenue and pay for itself.
