Default Bought a new car/supported the Oilers/loved Lethbridge

...all in one day!

Anyway, I'm absolutely pumped about my new vehicle - a 2010 Mazda 3 GT. I've wanted one for some time and finally decided to pull the trigger.

I wasn't getting the financing I wanted here in Calgary so ended up getting one from Milestone Mazda in Lethbridge. It is a family-run dealership and the treatment and customer service I got was second to none. It was so amazing I will likely be driving back down to Lethbridge every 8,000km to get it serviced instead of doing it here. I will be giving them business again some time in the future.

When I got there I found out that I bought a car from...Devan Dubnyk's father and uncle. It was surprising considering I know they had lived in Calgary up until a couple years ago (in my community no less, I almost bought a used piano from them once). Anyway they had posters plastered all over the place and I felt a little dirty supporting the Oilers even in the most indirect of ways. Although the service I got helped me feel a lot better about it...that and getting a new car

Anyway it was the first time I'd actually made the trip down to the Bridge and have to say I have never encountered such friendly people there! From the dealership to the registry office to the folks at the local Montana's, I was wonderfully surprised by how down-to-earth, helpful and friendly all the people I met were. Good thing I didn't run into Rich Preston.

It renewed my faith in humanity a little bit, knowing that there still is a such thing as true customer service. Frig, even the one local at Montana's took 5 minutes trying to explain how to get to the nearest Starbucks even though he was a Timmy's guy and really had no idea where the Starbucks was.

So anyways, a shout out to Doug and Barry Dubnyk if they read this board, go see them if you want a Mazda, and thanks to them and some of the folks in Lethbridge for showing kindness and customer service like I've rarely seen before. Here on CP and in general, we tend to only spread bad customer experiences so let's give credit when it is due.

Clearly you weren't in Lethbridge long enough to experience the real Lethy. Hang out downtown, see if that changes your opinion at all.

Well, at least when you're happy, your car is smiling with you. Which you probably were doing on the way back from Lethbridge.

That's whats surprising as I've generally heard nothing but bad things about the place. Either I just managed to get away in time, or I was in this trance of euphoria over having a new car. Which is a very happy car too, based on the front end.

I know...I have family there.

And I have family in Lethbridge. So I know what your saying about it is propaganda.

glad you got a new car, and glad you got out of Deathbridge fast. Best thing about that city is seeing it in your rear-view mirror.

The best thing about Lethbridge is that YOU are not in it. Lethbridge is a great place to live and its even better when the debbie downers stay away.

I got my dog in Lethbridge, and that has worked out ok.

It's a nice city, I'd live there if I had a career type that I could get a job there...

Tell us about the great deal you got on your car. What deal did you get there that you couldn't get in Calgary?
