I traded it in my 2003 WRX with mods, but all I had was some suspension bits, gauges in a pod on dash, downpipe and exhaust. They just gave me what it was worth if it was stock.

you can trade stuff with mods but really you are not going to get anything extra for it. Most dealers would really rather have the car as stock.
now if you sell privately you may get a bit extra if you find the right person.

They should give you what the Ram is worth whether it is more than what you are buying or not shouldn't really matter. the question really is what you Ram is worth. you may think it is worth X dollars but it really may be worth less. I am away from the office so i can't look it up for you or i would.

^^^I can look it up if you like. I would need some details to do that though. VIN would be ideal, if not. make model whether its an SLT etc.

Make a deal on the car and then the payments are figured just like a loan basically.
Pick your term. Rates residuals etc are usually set by the leasing companies.

Does this happen often?
Will they be less willing to negotiate on a Jeep of lesser value?

I was wondering if I just recently bought a new car and wanted to put tinted windows and replace the current spoiler with a bigger one would it affect my warranty?

If you're over 16 I hope the spoiler question was just a joke.

It's a bit dickish of me to wade into this but since you asked...adding poser mods is just tacky. If you're going to put money into modding your car, I don't understand why you wouldn't enhance its performance. Adding a shopping cart handle is so lame - plus I thought that wasn't even cool in ricer circleas anymore. Seems like more of a 2003 thing to do. Meh, who knows.
Do you have any pics of your car with the kind of spoiler you want? Maybe it can be done tastefully and I'm just being an a-hole for no reason lol.

Don't want to come off like an ass.... But if you cannot drive a manual 'yet' don't buy either one of those cars. You don't buy a desert Eagle .50 as your first gun, and that is pretty much the same concept. Either you can drive manual or you can't. Shouldn't take more than an hour to figure out. When I was 16 I took the 1500 bucks I saved, got on the bus, bought a 1983 GTI out of the bargain finder, and taught myself to drive it on my way home. It is a very simple concept, especially on newer cars, not the old jalopies we had to drive with cable clutches and sloppy broken shift gates. From Huntington Hills, to Lake Bonavista I had the concept figured out.
Also douching up a stock Impreza, only impresses people that know nothing about cars. I see people do that to Rabbits and Golfs they buy from us.... spending 7-8 grand on body kits, wheels, cold air intakes, and chips, and grapefruit launcher/fart cannon exhuasts when they could have just bought a GTI for the same price, and been faster, without looking like a Vin Diesel wannabe.

Don't give too much credit to the average driver pylon.
Loose floor mats are causing runaway cars to careen out of control for long periods of time...
People don't seem to have the sense to maybe shut the car off, put it in neutral or both.
With the older cars you speak of, a sticky throttle was fairly common.

LOL, I wouldn't trade the days of fixing beaters with bailing wire and duct tape in the Canadian tire parking lot for anything. Really, who under the age of 30 knows what to do with a carbeurator rebuild kit. It was like a right of passage to have a massive piece of crap car, that wouldn't start unless you knew the exact number of gas pedal pumps, and where the doorbell button was under the dash that you installed because the factory iginition tumbler was too expensive for you to afford.......from pick your part.
I actually rebuilt a 12A Mazda wankel rotory engine using a Chiltons, $250 dollars worth of parts, and my dads tools. I was 17 at the time, and it was the most complex thing I ever did in my life even until now, and that engine ran for 7 more years, as I sold the car to a guy down the street who drove it into the ground. New drivers, especially the guys, really will miss out on what I thought was some of the coolest experiences I had when I was young.
And no.... installing a Carbon fibre hood, and a Mugen power decal is not the same.

Agreed. I was lucky enough to drive some dilapidated garbage which taught me alot about cars. That knowledge has certainly saved me from being stranded and quite a bit of money.

I had exactly that, a doorbell button on my first car, bought it from the police auction for $100 (min bid) didn't come with keys.
Ran out of gas once and used a can of ether to get to the gas station
Ahh, the good ole days... the stories I good tell.

My lease is up next month and I think I have to buy the vehicle out (few damage spots that I can't afford to fix). Will the dealership finance the vehicle out to me for the same monthly rate as the 60 mo lease?

LOL, my trademark out of gas trick was to put the car in gear, and use the starter to get it there. I once got my car from Canyon Meadows Dr and Acadia Dr. All the way to the Bonavista Esso about a kilometere away on starter power only. I guess I was a Hybrid early adopter in 1990. LOL

Not to Hijack the thread... but I am a Finance manager at a dealership. The answer is yes, most dealers will offer you lease end financing... however, wait until the last possible second to do it. You may get a letter from the manufacturer offering you a lower purchase price than the actual residual, as the car may not be worth its residual value at auction and they may want to cut their losses with you. However, do not expect 0% financing, as the incentives on the car are long cashed out, and you will be subject to regular market financing. However, I can tell you all major dealers have a rate of 4.99% available through ATB and 1st Calgary right now, which is very reasonable for a fixed term car loan.
