First time building a computer, so I'm looking for a little assistance. I've been out of the loop for a couple of years, so I know nothing now I've only purchased Dells in the past
I just want to see that all my components are compatible. I don't want to spend any more, but if $20 gives me a great upgrade, any suggestions would be great.
A few things I might change is the motherboard, trying to find one with more USB slots or perhaps built in wifi so you dont need to worry with the extra card
The case you chose only has 4 hard drive bays so if change your motherboard you can sacrifice sata ports for other things.
Those are just nit picky things though. You could save some money on getting W7HP instead. Also most ratings have intel chips rated higher than current AMD chips.

Case: If space isn't an issue, you probably want to get a bigger one (ie. a Full Tower). My case (Antec 900) is nice, but it barely fits all of my components, and as a result restricts air flow more than I would like. IMO it's worth spending extra bean for a good case. Looks like you're on the right track - and congrats on your first build.
I HIGHLY suggest you spend an hour of two on Tom's Hardware to get some component information. That said, the individual components look pretty solid (nice work). Particularly the Vid Card.....FANTASTIC card at an incredible pricepoint.
The one thing that I do question......why Windows Ultimate? I'd think you should save a few beans (put them towards a larger case?) and get Professional. The only real difference is BitLocker and a crapload of language support. Unless you've got a ton of illegal material that needs to be secured in Punjab, I can't see a need for Ultimate.

My buddy has two of those cases. He loves them for whatever reason.
I love my COSMOS case. It was alot of money but I love it.
Its the first case I have ever owned that I would even consider not garbaging it when it comes time for a new computer. My only complaint is that it tries to sell cable management as a selling point, and while its ok at it its by no means great.
In Action. It is quite a dust machine though. I have to basically vacuum once a month behind it else my carpet would turn black.

I have the Antec 900 and I regret buying that case. At the time I was torn between the Antec 900 and the Antec P183. Now I don't own as many components as you and space is not an issue for me. But I don't like the bright blue lights on the case, it collects tons of dust and doesn't block any noise from the computer. I wish I would have bought the P183 because there is no stupid (IMO) lights on the case, it wouldn't suck up as much dust and it would be really quiet and it wouldn't stand out as much.
Obviously it's personal preference, but I would prefer my computer tower to not be the center of attention. I would rather it just sit quietly and discreetly under my desk and do it's job and not look like a radiator.

Is that a Coolermaster? My brother has the same or a very similar case. It's extremely quiet.

Do you need the security features that Win 7 Ultimate gives you?
If not you can probably save a couple bucks by going with Win 7 Pro which gives you everything Ultimate does MINUS some security encryption options....
Edit - it will save you $50 by going with Pro if you don't need those security features that virtually no one outside of corporate use would realistically use....

Thanks for the assistance. I dropped the OS down to Premium and upgraded the motherboard a little bit. I wanted to make sure I kept a couple USB 3.0 ports.

Depending on how upgrade-proof you want it, you might need a more powerful power supply. I had a 430w that had real trouble with my current system, and its not anything too crazy or overclocked. Maybe that unit was just bad, but I had to upgrade.

If i was ready to build a new computer, I'd definitely go to 650 or 750 watt with a solid brand name with at least 80% efficiency. I've seen some on sale for less than $100 lately. There was one 750 watt on that sales page I linked to but I guess it sold out quickly.
I'd also get an SSD hard drive for the operating system.
While it's nice that you have picked an aluminum case for $75, for $89 (http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16811112218) you could have an Lian Li. I highly recommend aluminum for it's lightness but if moving your computer around is not important, you can use the savings you get from a steel case that has more features.
I would also recommend a more powerful powersupply like others have mentioned. It's too bad you just missed out on a great Antec 750watt PSU @ NCIX's sale for $69.99.
For the videocard, I would go with the brand that gives you the best warranty and that's XFX with double lifetime.
I would actually build the computer at NCIX and price match everything to newegg (or anywhere else you find cheaper on shopbot.ca). NCIX has a $5.99 ground shipping on entire order promo now. Newegg will be shipping from the US and you get bundled extra fees for their higher shipping and built in UPS costs. NCIX will be easier to deal with for returns since it's in Vancouver.
Heck, if you can manage it, find similar components at Memory Express and price match NCIX and Newegg (they accept them) in the city (though I know how hard this is since Mem Ex has horrible selection).
Last night I bought a 5870 and ram and a PSU from NCIX pricematched to Newegg and saved about $75 just through pricematching and saving on shipping not to mention it'll arrive sooner (ships from Vancouver instead of California).
I would also suggest checking out www.directcanada.com out of British Columbia. **You may be able to pricematch from NCIX.**
I built slightly more powerful PC (faster processor, memory and video card) than what you have listed here from newegg but it costs $117.08 less. Most of this is the difference in Windows versions but that difference still allows you to further upgrade the power-supply, motherboard and case.
