Hi All

First off, congrats to your mom. As the following states I am sure she is a great mom.

As one of the other 9 finalists, I look at your mom's efforts and think great job. But and its a big butt! You cheated. No if ands or buts. There are numerous examples in this thread. One guy claimed to vote 200 times in one day. The worst is many of you insulted the others and claimed they were cheating. KC as you put it it's a popularity contest and you are correct. Most votes gets you into the final. Then its a proper contest with judges.

Did I cheat? No. I bugged the hell out relatives/friends/ coworkers/recipe sites...and worked hard and earned the votes. Its called work, and from the sounds of things in this thread it looks like most of you could use a little work ethic.

Now you claim your motives were justified because after Pillsbury shut you down they reset the votes. Hmmm remember, think back, waaaay back does two wrongs make a right. Well in your world it seems it does. Pillsbury allowed your mom to stay in the contest. Things are good now. your votes count and mom gets into the final. But you continue to slam others/Pillsbury.

Plus others to numerous to quote.

KC, you seem to take offense when somebody else discusses your openly underhanded methods. Yet you have no issue with your so called friends insulting people they do not know yet claiming is all in good fun:

People worked hard to market/build /design this contest so others such as your mom could enter it. Did your mom take it seriously? I would assume so as a Dianne Gardner from Calgary enters a lot of contests according to google.

Maybe you should ask your mom the very same question. But wait don't forget to show your mom this entire thread.

Conscience is an ability or a faculty that distinguishes whether one's actions are right or wrong. In psychological terms conscience is often described as leading to feelings of remorse when a human does things that go against his/her moral values, and to feelings of rectitude or integrity when actions conform to such norms.

Isn't the contest a judged event?

Did people here bribe the judges?

And she was already in the top 6 before KC even asked for the Jihad. I don't think she even really needed our help.

Sounds like a bunch of whiners.

We on CP sacrifice whiners. We are sick, sick hackers.

So begging for votes on a recipe site makes you holier then thou to someone who asked for votes on a hockey site?

I fail to see any difference between what you did and what the OP did. You both went on websites to boost your vote count. You're just as guilty as he is.

How's that conscience doing now?

Pillsbury wouldn't give a crap about whether or not the people who are voting are actually pro Pillsbury or not. You think Pillsbury made this contest because they actually want to discover delicious and creative recipes? Its all a marketing and advertising ploy... just like any other online contest. They want people to scour the internet asking people for votes because it disperses their brand name relatively easily.

I did not modify any proxies, clear my cache, change browers...You as a collective group did. there is no question about this. I asked friends/neighbours/ coworkers to vote. KC did the same then followed up by openely condoning the cheating.

Again, thank you! thank you! thank you! to all who are voting. CP at it's finest! The best part, she has no idea why she is getting so many votes all of a sudden...I'll share the story with her after the Jihad is complete. You guys (and gals) rock.
You seem to be missing the point. Its bad to cheat kids!!!

I think it's great the tuna dish won. I have an issue with the process it took to get there.

It would have been in the finals anyways, at first we thought it had to get to first so this is why the jihad really got started. It was judged by a panel from Philsbury, what is so hard to understand about that?

Is the winner decided by a group of judges or is it not?

All the stuff about clearing caches etc. in the end had no effect on the outcome or even the placement of the awesome Tuna dish in the top 3 since the counts were reset. Hence, the "process it took to get there" was completely legitimate.

Nothing is hard about the final choice. As I pointed out it's the process you as a collective group took. You openly cheated. Pillsbury was clear about the rules yet you flagrently broke them. And none of you have an issue with this. I can see your colective thinking: "The end justified the means" KC's mom should have been kicked out on Dec 19. Pillsbury was/is mortified of legal/marketing issues to do with the contest. What started with a simple fun contest turned into a marketing nightmare. Made worse by a bunch of self- serving self-centered morally bankrupt (yes all of you) kids.

I have my browser set to automatically delete my cache and cookies each time I exit. Is that cheating? I use 4 or 5 different computers a day. Is that cheating?

Pillsbury had the ability to make the contest less prone to mass voting. They didn't. All they care about is having as many eyes as possible see their marketing campaign. They actually WANT you to beg for votes and spread the message far and wide. They WANT people to go there repeatedly and to vote often.

Sorry, sour grapes. That's how things go on the big, bad internets.

You forgot recipe sites. You also asked recipe sites for help.

And while you didn't personally, can you speak for those you have asked to help you in this? The OP didn't ask us to cheat. People acted on their own free will, much like I'm sure people did on your behalf. I'm sure your friends, family, coworkers and recipe site also voted in a less then one per person way.
