Seriously? I spotted Tessa Virtue like 3 times, but never once Kiira.

For a 65 year old brain aneurysm survivor I'd say he's still doing alright.

At least Avril Lavigne and Nickelback are internationally popular. I can live with that.
But are one-hit wonders like Simple Plan even known anywhere but Canada? They would barely qualify as popular in this country. I don't see how they fit in at all in an internationally televised event.

At least the US feed did. They pretty much cut to commercial while the music was finishing up. I wondered if it wasn't actually over, but I figured it must be because surely Marriage Ref isn't important enough to cut the Olympic closing ceremonies for. Apparently it is.

That's your opinion, but I stongly disagree. I listen to probably an hour of Neil Young every week and have for years... I honestly can't get enough of him.
Granted, it is an acquired taste. It took me a long time to understand and appreciate him.

Gotta love members of the American Idol generation bashing Neil Young. Because, of course, it's all about the voice and who cares about passion, storytelling and soul.

Neil Young was out of my generation but I can still appreciate other artists/bands like the Beetles. Maybe that's a stretch but you guys are making him sound as great as them.
I thought the best of the artists was probably Buble. He's a great singer

If you were in the US, you would have paid attention for about 5 minutes then.
I actually think they probably made the right choice.

Lacked Bubbles, Rickey and Julien appearances.
At least I still have pictures and fond memories of Bubbles in a Flames helmet during the 03/04 finals

No kidding, the flying moose were all kinds of win.
Agree or disagree with the talent choices (liked some didn't like others) I still thought overall the closing ceremonies were far better than any I've seen in a long time.
I watched till the end, and I haven't done that in a loooong time.

Nobody made him out to be as great as the Beatles, nobody.
