Someone please please explain to me why Neil Young is so good? Is it his guitar playing / harmonica at the same time part? Because it sure as hell wasn't his singing, because that was awful to listen to.

What a bunch of crappy music.

When did Avril Lavigne go bubblegum, not that she was good to start with.

Neil Young was okay, but othewise pretty much suckage.

So 2 of the best weeks in Canadian history end on a note of Avril Lavigne, Simple Plan, and Hedley. aww...

That was brutal.

Where the hell was Rush? They can sell out a 100 000 seat venue in Rio. Hedley plays on the Coke Stage at the Stampede. Who would you pick for the celebration of an international games?

Beats me. Maybe I'm too young to really know the history or appreciate that type of music.

My hopes were so high at the beginning with the torch arm bit, even though I am terrified of mime / clown hybrids. Then it peaked with Neil Young, and fizzled out an episode of Canada's got Talent.

Maybe they started it off with Nickelback so that people would know it was time to leave

so they wouldn't be subjected to the rest of it

Would it have killed them to bring any one of Arcade Fire, Leonard Cohen, The Dears, Wolf Parade, Rush, The Hip, Feist, Broken Social Scene, or any other Canadian band that is more respectable than the crap we just saw!
