Italian wins slalom. First gold for Italy in Alpine event in the Winter Olympics since Tomba here in 1988 I think.
Canadian 8th, but had 2nd best run in 2nd run.

Germany now has 10 to Canada's 12.
Germany is 3rd in the bobsled, so they would have to have an insane run and the Canada and USA sleds would have to screw up in order for them to get gold there.
Beyond that, there's only one other event where the top 2 aren't already set, Men's 50km Cross Country tomorrow. Germany hasn't won any men's golds in Cross Country, so that probably won't happen.
The USA can max out at 10 golds.
Canada is still in the running for 3 more golds, and is guaranteed at least 2 silver: Bobsled, Curling, and Hockey.

On Sportsnet: Halfway through the final run in bobsled. Latvia just finished, they were the 10th sled to go.
Canada 2 is 16th and Canada 1 is 19th.
