I'm not sure Team Canada will be able to shake off the nerves Sunday until they get down a couple of goals. Hope I'm wrong, but I can see that happening.

Weber has really impressed me as well. We don't see the Preds much but he's never blown me away in any games I see him play in the NHL. He's looked very poised and physical out there. Doughty also has been a pleasant surprise. He could be the next great defenseman.

No the stupid thing is people refusing to give Luongo any credit for a game saving save. If that save is lucky then every save is lucky.

Thornton really looks slow sometimes. But he hasn't disappeared yet.

Not trying to be a homer but this team could have used Bouwmeester. He should be on this team.

This team could use a Bouwmeester instead of a Seabrook and a Phaneuf instead of a Pronger.

Fair enough, I was giving the rest of the team the benefit of the doubt with that comment. Iggy was one of the best offensive players on the ice, had a few really good chances that he was robbed on. Staal wasn't as hard on the puck as he usually is, a bit of an off game for him but still decent (decent isn't good enough, we agree on that) but Crosby... Crosby didn't have a good game at all, not only did he not make anything happen but he killed more than a couple of plays.
The whole line needs to be better but that starts with the supposed best player on the team and the player having the hardest time these Olympics, one and the same.

I was in favor of Seabrook playing on this team if he was going to play with Keith but since he hasn't then yes Bouwmeester would have been a better choice. Phaneuf over Pronger though? No thanks. Pronger started off the tournament slow and making questionable choices but has gotten better as the games have gone on. I think Niedermayer has been worse.
Weber
Doughty
Keith
Boyle
I think those 4 have had solid tournaments on defense.

Pronger has been useless the entire tournie.
At least Phaneuf has a bomb from the point and has no problem running people over. Pronger is invisible. Useless.

The 2nd goal was because of crappy defense as was the near game tying goal that Demitra got really late. The defense needs to be better on Sunday for Canada to win. Canada got casual in the 3rd thinking they could coast to a 3-0 win. I actually think they learned their lesson and you'll see a 60 minute performance on Sunday. Ryan Miller is USA's MVP if they win and if Canada wins I give it to Shea Weber. The guy is amazing.

Canada or Babcock. I really can't see a group of players that have top level game laying off all at the same time unless Babcock gives the instructions to protect the lead. They completly changed their forecheck to a 1 man in from a 2 man in and the 3 winger locking down the side boards.
Thats bad coaching.
As for Greaser he wasn't tested that much.
According to CTV in the second intermission scoring chances in the first period for Slovaks ZERO. Scroring chances in the 2nd 3.
When the heat came in late 3rd Greaser let in 2 goals in 3 minutes no matter how you want to slice it.

Bouwmeester hasn't lit up the scoreboard but one thing I've noticed that he's one of the best I've seen at using his long reach to tip and break up rushes into his zone with his stick. He's also very steady and never seems to get rattled.

I don't agree, Pronger has been turning the puck over ALOT in the defensive zone. The guy is slower than slow. Which is really suprising to me. I actually like Pronger and WAS happy he was on the team. now, not so much.
Edit: Whoops, I thought you were talking about Pronger, haha.

Phaneuf would have been slamming people all over the place. Especially when it became quite obvious that the referees didn't give a crap what anyone was doing.

Are we talking about Chris "Pylon" Pronger? He is on this team on reputation alone.

I'd rather have Green than Phaneuf, to be honest. Limit him to strictly PP time.
But yeah, Bouwmeester would have been a much better option than Seabrook.

I wouldn't even worst your time with OILFAN all his/her posts slam Flame players always.
Sorry Canada didn't select any Coilers because they have no Canadian talent. And if OILFAN's reply is Penner or Souray. Like I said the Greasers have no Team Canada worthy players.
