Nope. I'm pretty hard on Kipper and wouldn't be happy with the first goal which gave the Slovaks life.

So, either Canada becomes the only team other than the USA to win gold on home soil, or they get their revenge for 2002.

It would be devastating to see the US win against Canada, on home ice, while playing "our game." Canada better absolutely destroy the US on Sunday. I can't watch another loss to them, and my heart surely can't handle more like the last 10 mins of this game.

GO CANADA GO!

I'm gonna have to go and stock up on nachos and salsa for Sundays game.

For the most part, he's been out there for defensive zone faceoffs. If he wins, Canada gets the puck out and he heads to the bench. If he loses, he skates around looking out of place until (a) his team bails him out or (b) the Slovaks score.

And Babcock is too stupid to sit him down for the rest of the game.

Almost cost Canada a shot at gold.

Well I could care less who wins gold. Silver is already more than I expected from the US team Burke put together. It will be funny to see the board melt down if the US wins.

First goal was weak no doubt

outside of that he was very good

more worried about the defense being sloppy in the 3rd, and the forwards looking lazy as well

He would have the same reaction. You obviously don't know Erick Estrada's posting history. He's not happy with anything. Ever. There is always fault to be found.

The first Slovak goal was bad, but the 2nd one wasn't his fault at all. Add that last save in and I'd say Luongo had a good night.

I'll need years of therapy if that happens, or heavy doses of alcohol, or both.

There is no way this game should have been so close, Great 2.5 periods, then the chant goes up, the team relaxes, Luongo let's in a questionable goal and wow. We were very lucky to escape with a win. Can't do that against the U.S. they are playing with major confidence.

Bring on the US!!!!
Fixed, Staal and Iggy weren't great but they were at least as good as the rest of the forwards on the team. Crosby has been a no show at more than one game this Olympics.

I guess experiment wasn't the right word. The crappy announcers, colour guys, etc, keep talkin him up so much, trying to say something good about him when he's on the ice, the commercials all say "led by Crosby" or something similar, and now....not much. They want him to be the hero of the day and he hasn't showed up. Maybe they should all just throw out their scripts and be real?

I already said I'm happy about the win. I haven't made one disparaging comment about the team's play tonight while others have. All I said was Luongo will have to be better. I never even said he had a bad game. Start reading posts instead of generalizing.

I can't believe that anyone is blaming this on Luongo. The guy isn't responsible for goal scoring or defense. He let in one bad goal. Our defense and fantastic 2way forwards should have never let those chances happen against Handzus and Demitra!
