Kipper has been the best goalie in the tournament until today's game.

Today ...He sucked very badly and so did his team.

Pretty cold comments by the panel. I find it funny how 3 talking heads who have never played goal before think they know everything.

Are people seriously angry on this thread? Have I stumbled onto helsinkipuck.com?

He's right though.

Anytime a goalie let's in lotsa goals, CP immediately roasts that goalie.

When its Kiprusoff, its because the team sucked. (which they are, no arguing that)

Kypreos, get your facts straight bud. Kipper never said he wasn't coming if he wasn't the starter....he said he wasn't going to come if he didn't get to play (ala third string).

Yeah, teammates hang him out to dry after he single handedly got them to this point.

Darren Pang made a good point about Finland just sulking after the first goal. When something like that happens, its only 1 nothing, you need to rally around your goalie and instill some confidence in him. They just sulked. Horrible effort all around, not just Kipper.

The team and the goalie have played bad

obviously the first one was a Broduer-esque mistake, the 2nd one was a fluke bounce, he should have had the 3rd and the 4th I think. But the team around him was allowing the Americans to get in good positions to shoot.

All facets of the finnish game have been terrible. The thing that most shocked me was him pulling himself

and wow Ferraro, Kipper beaten like a pinata deservedly so? thats a little harsh

What's getting old? The fact that I'm not a massive homer that can't admit Kipper played a bad game and that Luongo's career isn't defined by an equally bad game?

Start, as in one game or the entire tournament?

Maybe we should get some facts, first.

Good point. One weak goal and that guy's career was done.

Hope the same thing doesn't happen to Miikka.

I can see your point. My thinking is that kipper botched the first goal and the entire team buckled. I'm certainly not saying it's all his fault, just that he's the top player on a team that has put forth a horrible effort and he needed to be better. Would the outcome be different if he was better? I doubt it.

One of Kipper's strongest attributes is how he bounces back. Of course olympic meltdowns seem to affect euro goalies quite a bit, I think Kipper will be fine. I think he's been great all season.

So let's this straight:

Luongo undeniably was consistently great last year. He has a bad game in an important situation. Thus, he's a loser.

Kipper is undeniably consistently great this year. He has a bad game in an important situation. It's Finland's fault and he's still the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Convenient.
