Yeah, he was the first guy who came to mind for me. Obviously hockey would be a weakness, but he'd hold his own in the other three major pro sports.

If it were all-time, my choice would easily be Lionel Conacher: played hockey, lacrosse, football, rugby, baseball, boxing, and wrestling. And it wasn't just that he played these sports, he excelled at them: 27-0 as a wrestler; won a national amateur boxing title; had a twelve year hockey career and won the cup twice; the Argonauts were 15-1-1 during the two seasons that he played for them (he played multiple positions, of course), and won the Grey Cup. Every team he was with, regardless of what sport it was, just won.

I would have to choose iggy. it wouldn't matter what sport we would be playing, it would just be cool to hang out with him.

My cousin knows him from jr. high. He was always a good guy.

My 2nd choice would have to be Kiira Korpi.
I said it was unconventional. But CC is a very good athlete.
And he's lefty!

You want to see Kiira Korpi do the pole vault don't you.

Roger Federer. I don't know why. He just seems like he'd be good at a lot of other sports besides tennis.

Or Maybe Lance Armstrong. He would be an asset in anything involving endurance.

Lionel Conacher

HOCKEY
: From 1925 to 1937, Conacher played in the NHL with Winning the Stanley Cup in 1934 with the Chicago Blackhawks, and 1935 with the Montreal Maroons.

BASEBALL: In 1920, Lionel hit the game-winning home run to give his team the Toronto semipro baseball crown, then promptly took a taxi across the city and scored four goals for his lacrosse team, which was losing 3-0 when he arrived. In 1926, he played professional baseball as an outfielder for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the International League. His team won the pennant and the Triple A championship.

BOXING: In 1920 Lionel won the Canadian amateur light heavyweight boxing title. In 1921 Lionel boxed a four-round exhibition with Jack Dempsey.

LACROSSE: Lionel also played lacrosse for the Toronto Maitlands, and helped guide that team to the Ontario Senior Lacrosse championship in 1922. In 1931, Conacher became professional in a third sport when he played for the Montreal Maroons in the International Indoor Professional Lacrosse League. In 1965, he was inducted into the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

WRESTLING: In 1916 Conacher won the amateur lightweight wrestling championship of Ontario in the 125 pound weight class at age 16 year old. After training with Ali Hassan, he made his pro debut in May 1932 for Toronto promoter Ivan Mickailoff. Conacher went 27-0 as a pro wrestler in Canada and the United States in 1933 and never lost a match in his career.

I would also take Jackie Parker.

If you're doing historical athletes, I'd go for Jim Thorpe.

How about Laird Hamilton?
That guy is super fit, super coordinated and completely fearless. One of those guys who can pretty much do anything.
I HATE HIM

Fine, if he has to be alive, then I would definitely pick an Olympic athlete. None of these basketball, football goofs.

Quote:
Roman Šebrle Czech pronunciation: [ˈroman ˈʃɛbr̩lɛ] (born November 26, 1974) is an athlete from the Czech Republic. Originally a high jumper, he competes in decathlon and heptathlon for team TJ Dukla Praha and is a world record holder in the decathlon. In 2001 in Götzis he became the first decathlete ever to achieve over 9,000 points, setting the record at 9,026 points, succeeding his compatriot, Tomáš Dvořák, who had scored 8,994 points two years earlier.
After placing second in the decathlon during the 2000 Summer Olympics, Šebrle won the gold medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics. Tradition dictates the winner of the decathlon holds the title of "World's Greatest Athlete".[1] Šebrle has held the title five of the past seven years.
A panel of experts convened by the Wall Street Journal in 2008 also ranked Šebrle as the world's greatest athlete.[2]

I'll go with the homer vote and say Jarome Iginla - great hockey player, good golfer, someone said he played baseball, would think he would be good at football too - rocks at video games.

I'd have to go with someone like Wayne Rooney. The guy is an absolute beast. I imagine him being a big rugby player, and if you gave him the football as a running back he could probably pound it through most defensive lines. Big strong guy that can run like the wind and jump too.

Historically I'd think Jim Brown has to be up there. One of the greatest football players, one of the greatest lacrosse player, played basketball, baseball well and ran track. And most importantly acted on Mars Attack.
