I can't believe that anyone would expect a sick person to leave the room just so that they can blow their nose.
Hey everyone, this person is feeling miserable - let's add to their misery!

Yes, same thing in Korea. I used to blow my nose in front of my parents at the dinner table - this is probably the most inconsiderate thing you can do.

This one time, at Subway.. this girl was making my sub and kept sniffling, once she rubbed her noes on her sleeve. Then she excused herself from the sammich line, I thought ok good someone else will pick it up. They left it for her though, anyway, from where I was standing I could see her around the corner blowing her nose. It was gross, save the details but she got right in there. Then she comes back, with the same gloves on and everything, and tries to go at my sub. It fought every single polite fiber in me but I had to say something because otherwise this sub was going right in the garbage.
I just said, Excuse me.. but did you just blow your nose? Then a more senior member of the staff said, Change your gloves and wash your hands, and apologized to me. I said no need to apologize, I am sure she didn't do it on purpose..
So she washed her hands put on fresh gloves and finished my Sub, with a great amount of attitude.. sorry for not wanting your snot in my sub.

I'm ridiculously sick right now. And I apologize if I was the person that was blowing my nose on the train. But it was either that or have it drip down my face. I usually try to find some corner somewhere away from people, but it just can't be helped if you're on transit.

Gee, how nice of you to take public transit and make everyone else sick too.

I blow my nose wherever I please. Nothing worse than hearing someone breathing with an obvious booger up their nose.

Some of us actually contribute to society with jobs and as such require the use of public transit to accomplish those contributions.
But it's nice that you have the freedom to not have to worry about commuting to a job.

Not only that, but we are lowing our carbon footprints by taking transit.

Anything is better than constant sniffling/snorting. Winter months used to be the worst in school when 1/2 the class would be sniffing during a lecture.

I personally get a bit annoyed when people come to work sick. If you're blowing your nose due to allergies or whatever, meh, doesn't bother me. But if you're blowing your nose, coughing and sneezing all over the place and generally spreading your germs around the office, please just stay home. The corporation will be okay without you for a couple days, I promise.

Except if you make others sick and thus force them to stay home from work you are more of a detriment to society. This happens at my workplace constantly and it drives me up the wall. People in my office have this inexplicable sense of self importance and they feel that if they take a day off to get feeling better the entire building will implode without them there to support it. All that ends up happening is everybody else gets ill because they decided to be a hero.
I don't know your situation, so I apologize ... it's just a massive pet peeve of mine.
Not a big fan of the public nose blower. I don't think it's a black and white issue so for me it's more of a preference thing. I don't want to hear you blow your nose so I don't want you to hear me doing it (this is actually the same reason my wife and I refuse to fart around each other). Obviously sometimes leaving the room isn't possible so I don't get too bent out of shape about it.

You think people should stay home if they have the sniffles?

No, but if they're really quite sick, they should stay home.
That's all.

Blowing in public is better than sniffling in public. That being said, I never have Kleenex on me, and thus run to the bathroom to blow. However due to this I sniffle way too much. Luckily though I don't live with a sniffler, I'd go mad.

It's like they've never seen snot before. Weird.

Besides, you should look at it... especially for little kids.
Clear is good... yellow/green = bad/infection
