Because the guy went to FSU. Its my favorite team and last summer I toured the campus and went on the field, unreal facility - but thats not the point. The point is FSU has always been really sketchy when it comes to athletes grades. Something is definatly strange about that.

Sorry...but only 32 people worldwide became Rhodes scholars last year....not just athletes, but academics as well...his grades were well earned, or he would never of even been considered.

But how do you go about completing a degree in two and half years? You'd have to average like 8 classes a semester. I guess he could have taken some spring courses but we still haven't even factored in football.

He was taking classes all summer...every summer. The guy is one of "those" people, who is so intelligent and driven to succeed, 99.9% of the population simply cannot relate to him.
He intends to be a neuro-surgeon BTW, has already established his own foundation and intends to open free health care clinics in his homeland of the Bahamas.
He just gets it.

Sounds like the NFL OT format could finally change next year for the playoffs:
http://www.tsn.ca/nfl/story/?id=311798
"Under the new format, both teams would get the ball at least once unless the first team to get the ball scores a touchdown, Greg Aiello said. If the first team to get the ball makes a field goal and the other team ties the game, action would continue until a team scores again".
It is better then the current format but they need to go all the way. Each team needs to get the ball at least once no matter what (unless of course the defense scores on a TD like the Packers/Cards playoff game).

Yeah, Sproles isn't going to get his franchise number on the open market. Chester Taylor would actually be a good fit for the Chargers and than they'll likely use one of their top two picks on a back.

Probably sign someone established then take LaGarrette Blount later in the draft.

Ah didn't realize that part. I've been so Oly focused the past two weeks that I've totally ignored NFL, I just saw it on the ticker on TSN when I was watching the Canada/US game. Ya he's not worth that. I bet they wish they woulda held onto Turner now.

I think that is funny as hell.
This is the NFL where trash-talking goes to extreme levels throughout...this was Payton getting a really good dig at Jones...and Jones knows why as well. I bet Jones laughed his ass off actually.

I agree. We don't know how well these guys know each other. Payton wouldn't do something like that if he didn't think Jones would find it funny.

Considering Payton used to be one of the Cowboys' assistant coaches right before he took over as HC of the Saints, I'm sure they're buddies. Actually Payton's said as much before, as has JJ. I think it's hilarious.

I was at the Dallas dinner Saturday -- stopped by at the end of their dinner, and we had some good laughs. Jerry and I chatted, and we had the empty wine bottle right next to us. Jery was going to bring it back to Dallas with him as a keepsake, but it accidentally broke that night at the restaurant!"

Jevon Kearse will not be returing to the Titans.
That will be 2 of my favorite players not returning to their teams.

I like to call this the "Brett Favre didn't get a chance to redeem himself in OT" rule.

Took it as a funny burn, not as disrespect. Well done Payton.
