I've got a random question....

Winter Olympics

2010
2006
2002
1998
1994
1988

Why is there 4 years between every winter olympic games except between Calgary in '88 and the next ones in 1994?

Summer and Winter Olympics used to be in the same year and then they changed it.

The IOC decided to shift the Winter games to the middle of each Olympiad so as to celebrate them opposite of the Summer Games.

You also missed the 1992 Albertville games. Lillehammer was 1994, then Nagano in 1998.

summer and winter olympics used to always be in the same year, 1992 was the first year they split it.

so they were both in 1988, and then summer in 1992 and winter in 1994 and then both of them every 4 years

I'm pretty sure there was a winter olympics in 1992. Albertville I think.

These winter Olympic sports all look so fun.....boblsleigh/luge/skeleton would be awesome if you could guarantee you wouldn't end up on your head or off the track ().
