Default Canada's female athletes rock

not only do we have, in my opinion, the hottest female contingent in these Olympics, but they also kick some serious ass in competition. women have won the majority of Canada's medals at these Olympics, and they've done it in a few sports historically dominated by European nations on the men's side (bobsled, speed skating, and 50% of ice dance). add that up with the complete dominance in women's hockey and i think it's safe to say that Canada is one of the best countries in the world for female athletes, which i think has to be due to us also being one of the leading countries in equality for all genders, races, and sexuality

today i'm DAMN proud to call myself a Canadian

Agreed, the womens bobsledders were in a different league than every other team on the track. Now if they only could remember to turn off the left blinker on their way down the track.....

kidding....kidding.....

Pet peeve: people who call turn singnals "blinkers"

There;s only one thing to think of when you read "woman" and "blinker" and it's not really their turn signals.

Texted last night after the bobsled:

Me: Who says women can't drive?

Friend: Notice that none of them were Chinese

The chicks have 11.5 of the 15 medals so far. They are doing absolutely awesome. Not only that, but generally speaking they are hot and extremely well spoken and poised when interviewed.

They are doing all of us Canadians proud.

More pointedly, they are a great inspiration for another generation of young girls who will want to emulate them.

That's the ultimate benefit of spending a rather miniscule $117 million.

Totally agree. They really have been special this Olympics, and should all be very proud of themselves.

The only thing that bothers me a little in this whole "own the podium" and "believe" pre-Olympics crap is the undo additional pressure that they have faced. When I see the halfpipe girl tearing up and apologizing to Canadians because she didn't medal, I almost get a little angry.

You have nothing to apologize for. You are an elite athlete that made it to the Olympic games on your own merits. You should be proud of what you have accomplished. Wear that Maple Leaf with pride - because we (or at least "I") am very proud of you.

Congrats Canadian women - well done!
